About Tyler Auld
Hi! I'm a DM and tech-writer of about 8 years now, and I've run enough systems for enough groups to feel good about running games professionally. My favorite system is Pathfinder 1E, but there's a lot of systems I love to play and run. I'm currently using my writing degree and experience in Historical European Martial Arts and karate to write my own martial arts based system. I love good combat as much as some good dialogue and political intrigue, so I'm happy to run a variety of themes.

How Tyler Auld runs games
I try to GM according to the playgroup; I have a few methods of gauging player interest, notably, a thorough session 0 where we discuss the who/what/why and where of the setting, player characters, motivations, etc. I am a particular fan of blending tactical combat and roleplay, political intrigue, etc. so that nothing gets stale. I'm also a fan of realism as long as it doesn't get in the way of fun - sometimes, combat happens when one or another party isn't prepared, and a messy melee ensues. Sometimes, you just roll initiative to watch a perfectly hatched plan unfurl. I try to be versatile; variety is the spice of life. I've done Historical European Martial arts for years now, as well as karate, and I have a degree in technical writing, so I like to think I've got a decently well-rounded skillset!
