About Chris
Hello! My name is Chris and I love story telling. I'm an avid reader and gamer of anything from high fantasy to space operas, and I'm always open to new kinds of stories. I have been playing DnD for almost 10 years now with Critical Role as my first real introduction into the hobby (not counting the nightmare attempts to play 3.5 in junior high), and I have a home game that has been going strong almost every week for 6 years. My style of DMing is heavily improv based, taking much from the ideas of the players. We are all at the table telling a story, so I just want to help nurture and grow that story collaboratively! I also tend to lean on the silly side of things in many situations, but I'm always willing to go to serious roleplaying places with my players. I am very familiar with 5e DnD (and learning 5.5 now), but I'm lacking in knowledge of other TTRPG systems. I'm open to learn new ones, just haven't had the player interest among my friends. I usually like to use published games as the skeleton for the story, and allow for the players backstories to shape the rest of it. So far I have run Tomb of Annihilation (with MANY DMs Guild supplements) through to completion, and I'm currently running Vecna: Eve of Ruin for that same party. So come on! Lets roll some dice and make up stories together!

How Chris runs games
I like to think my GM style is pretty wide ranging. I really enjoy good roleplay. I love a good festival or casino or even just non combat encounters in the local inn. But I also do enjoy challenging my players with remarkable combats. I won't riddle a long adventuring day with hundreds of random encounters, but just a few memorable ones is perfect to me. I will always try to do voices. They will inevitably end up being Russian, US Southern, or a bad attempt at British or Australian. And so far its worked for me. I do pride myself on my undead noises, though!
