About Fokas

I’ve been a Dungeon Master for over a decade, building worlds where grit, glory, and consequence collide. My games blend tactical combat, layered politics, and immersive storytelling — a place where every player choice echoes through the world. I specialize in open-world high fantasy settings that reward curiosity and strategic thinking. Whether your party seeks ancient relics in sunken ruins, navigates court intrigues among rival kingdoms, or carves a name in the blood and gold of the frontier, my goal is the same: to make every session feel cinematic, alive, and uniquely yours. I use improv and detailed worldbuilding to adapt each session to your group’s personality and decisions — no rails, no filler. Beginners are welcome, veterans are respected, and everyone has a role to play in shaping the story. Systems supported: D&D One, 5e, and 3.5e (with homebrew support). Join me if you want your campaign to feel like a living world — where every ally, enemy, and treasure tells a story worth remembering.

Featured Prompts

My favorite shows/movies are

Game of Thrones , The Witcher, The Lord of the Rings, and Gladiator — stories where victory costs something, and characters bleed for what they believe in.

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

Immersive, fair, and relentless. I want my players to feel the weight of their choices, the thrill of discovery, and the satisfaction of shaping a world that remembers what they’ve done.

When I'm not running games I'm...

Writing, worldbuilding, or wandering through strategy and history books — always looking for details to weave into my next setting or faction. Inspiration hides in everything if you know where to look.

How Fokas runs games

“Cinematic and gritty, with equal focus on tactical combat and deep roleplay. I emphasize player agency and meaningful consequences — choices shape the world, not just the story.”

Featured Prompts

I deal with rules issues by...

pausing, clarifying intent, and moving forward fast. Flow matters more than being “right.” After the session, I’ll revisit and adjust if needed.

I prep by

...prep, what is that? No seriously I don't "prep". I build worlds, not scripts — I create motives, conflicts, and moving pieces, then let players set everything on fire.

My favorite trope is...

the flawed hero — the person who fails, learns, and still stands back up when the world breaks around them.

Fokas's ideal table

My ideal table is curious, collaborative, and invested in story and character. I welcome both newcomers and veterans, but I prefer players who engage with the world — not just the dice. Expect mature themes, moral dilemmas, and difficult choices, but also moments of triumph, humor, and discovery. We play to tell a story together, not to “win.” I value teamwork, consistency, and respect — for each other and the world we’re shaping.

Featured Prompts

I love it when a player

surprises me — when they connect dots I didn’t expect, make bold choices, or roleplay consequences instead of avoiding them.

I think min/maxing...

can be fun, but only if it serves the story. A clever build should enhance your character’s journey, not replace it.

My perfect party mix is

one tactician, one dreamer, one wildcard, and one moral compass — a crew that argues, laughs, and saves the world anyway.
