About me

Hi there. I'm Charlie and I've been a D&D player and DM since the late 80s. I love playing with veteran players but also very much enjoy mentoring new people into D&D. My DM style is very story driven and I love to focus on PC character arcs. I try to mix at least one combat encounter into each session, but usually my campaigns are around 75/25 RP to combat. I believe whole-heartedly that the secret sauce in any good D&D game is the DM saying "yes" to his/her players and letting the PCs creativity and imaginations drive the experience. I believe a good DM never says, "you can't do that"; but rather, "how would you do that?"... I've been in too many games as a player where it didn't feel like I was playing, but instead felt like I was just listening to the DM tell me a story about how my party was failing at everything. That's no fun. The magic is in letting the players stretch the boundaries of their characters and the story. I will work with you to establish a great character that you absolutely love and help you build an amazing backstory that will become an integral part of whatever campaign we're running.
