Game Master Reviews (2)
Michael is a very engaging Game Master, giving us opportunities to shape the narrative and describe the effects of our actions right from the Get-go - really gave me a feeling of being a part of the Storytelling Experience. As a GM, that's something I will imitate in future sessions myself, because nothing allows me to dive into my Character quite like being asked to describe the visual effects of my healing spell, being encouraged to let he effect of a Nat20 Medicine Check have the effect of a Divine Intervention, and letting me describe, from my own Character's past experiences, the acrid acidic tang of the stench of Titan Blood. Really pulled me into the Character to the point where I could see my spell's magic, smell the blood on the walls, and just feel my teeth chattering in my jaw as the foil creatures' magic called to my very bones! He set up his world with stunning descriptions, evocative imagery and an immersive story with a reason for my Character to care deeply and involve myself immediately in what is going on with the world. His Characters were well portrayed, thought provoking, and sympathetic, even the ones inadvertently involved in the disaster's origin, making me care about them and want to protect them. His creature designs were really neat too, they weren't like any monsters I've ever fought before and it was interesting to try and figure out how to fight them effectively. He was also very solicitous of feedback, even on the fly, to make sure we were comfortable, not having our lines crossed, and seeing how things were going, even cutting the session short when, as enthusiastic as we were, both of the players were falling out from Real World exhaustion, he wrapped it early with a promise to finish up later. Overall, I would say Michael is a fantastic Game Master and you owe it to yourself to play with him if you have the chance to do so. You will not regret it.
