About me

I started playing Dungeons and Dragons when I was eight years old with my brother. We started with ADnD; not knowing what it was. We mostly just winged the whole thing. Eventually my brother got a starter set and we played with pre-made character sheets; he was Niles, a sneaky Rogue. I was Tordek, a Dwarven Fighter. I think the adventure was a one shot of a vampire that lived in an abandoned tower feeding on victims from the local village where we started. From there our creativity exploded. We both made homebrew campaigns, played different systems, and several different modules. I explored different groups when I was 12. Bought my first set of books when I was 17 and ran my first completed custom world when I was 19. I have started several games and have only ever been able to finish one campaign. My experience over the 22 years I’ve played and DMed has made me really good at improve when it becomes necessary. I don’t like to railroad campaigns; I prefer to allow a sand-boxy experience for the players I DM for. I thoroughly enjoy how we can experience a story of fantasy and semi-realism together. It tends to allow players to feel like they’re behind the scenes like the DM is. Even makes the DM almost feel like a player in pivotal moments of the campaign. I have drawn a lot of inspiration from several TV shows, TCG’s, even from famous Dungeon Masters like Matt Mercer!

GM Style

Im a huge fan of role play. Generally, I don’t force it on anyone. If you’re new however, I try to encourage it. It can help break the ice if your nervous. I have a plethora of voices I have adapted over the years and try to incorporate them as much as possible. A healthy combination of combat and role play is normally how my games go. A session-zero is a great way i get to know my players likes and dislikes before diving in. With that being said I do try to accommodate everyone’s needs. One thing that I always bring up, is that I avoid very sexualized themes (i.e. characters with unnecessarily large genitalia, hounding npcs of the opposite sex, or exaggerated sexual tendencies). I have found that sort of thing can definitely make other players uncomfortable and waste valuable game time they aim to enjoy. My main goal is that everyone enjoy themselves and the game they came to play!
