About the adventure

Do you have questions about D&D? Do you want to give the game a try? Come join my game. I run this weekly workshop to help introduce people to the hobby and guide them to be more confident players. It's also a great way to get familiar with roll20's virtual table top. I have been using this site for years and can help coach players on the virtual tools. The game itself will be a short one-shot experience. We will have a laid back, friendly pace to the game. I want to make sure everyone understands what is happening, when things happen. I will provide pregenerated characters for this game. I'd be happy to talk about the characters you're working on, and provide advice for practical builds, but I recommend pregens for first time players. We will be using roll20 for our virtual tabletop, and discord for chat. I will have my webcam going, but you are free to use voicechat alone if you prefer.

Additional Details

How to prepare

We will be using roll20 and zoom. You will want to have accounts set up on both sites so we can play. A mic will be required for voicechat. I will be using a webcam. If you would also like to use one, that'd be lovely.

What I provide

I have the game, the characters, the monsters, and everything else ready to go.

Gameplay details

D&D has three pillars of gameplay: Interaction, Exploration, and Combat. I plan to give a taste of all three in my short workshop. There will be mysterious ruins to explore, bizarre and dangerous creatures to chat with, and deadly foes to slay. I'll introduce each element and talk about how these things might crop up in other games, and what a player might expect from other GMs. I'll also mention some red flags a player may encounter when looking for other games. I've seen too many people turned away from the hobby due to a toxic table.
