About the adventure

Welcome to the latest adventure from Wizards of the Coast - The Wild Beyond the Witchlight! This Feywild adventure promises a variety of chaos and unpredictability in the form of mischievous Fey creatures and your interactions with them! This module promotes the active use of skills, spells and abilities to form non-combat solutions to problems and invoke creative roleplay scenarios for players to partake in. However, a wrong more or ill advised gamble could lead to a perilous outcome! Just another way for you to use your character's abilities and features to escape danger or survive the Wild Beyond the Witchlight.

Gameplay details

The overall tone of the campaign is light-hearted and fun with menacing danger bubbling away below the surface waiting to pour out...But what does that mean? 1) This module is very roleplay and abilities heavy. It promotes the use of non-combat abilities to achieve goals. 2) There is a sense of wonder and exploration through the areas of the Feywild the party will find themselves in. 3) Each character will have a personal quest to find something that was taken from them when they last visited the Witchlight Carnival as a child. 4) Combat can be incredibly tough if players end up making enemies of the wrong NPCs. Tread carefully and work together to have contingency plans, just incase. Be attentive to clues and don't be afraid to think outside the box and be creative with your approach to the game. I will discuss what kinds of things players wish to not have within the game privately with each player before session 0. I use this information to lay out the expectations to the group during session 0. Whatever you say to me will remain between us. Always consider my messages to be open if you have any issue in a game of mine.

How will character creation work

- The adventure will start at Level 1 and progression is made using milestone leveling. - The adventure mainly takes place outside of the world your characters are from and in a completely unknown place to the characters. As such, I would advise focusing more on the personality of your character than an extended backstory. - Since roleplay is the main focus of the campaign, carefully choose the bonds, ideals and flaws of your character to enhance your experience. - Characters will be finalised during session 0. You can either come with a character concept prepared or work with me directly during session 0 to make your character. - You can either use my compendium on Roll20 or import the character from D&D Beyond onto Roll20.

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: Low
  • Roleplay: High
  • Puzzles: Medium
  • Experience Level: Open to all
