About the adventure

Welcome Recruits! The word is full of dark deep terrors. humanity has struggled to overcome them. small kingdoms cling to life, not able to withstand the power of those who have turned to evil and dark powers. Those willing to take power at all costs have brought the world to its knees. It will take those with unyielding resolve to survive and hold off the monsters. players will take on the role of recruits for an alliance of various kingdoms called the Iron Brigade. within the ranks of the Brigade heroes and adventures solve problems, destroy evils, and keep the people safe from threats both of this world and beyond. this is a largely open-world and character-driven game where characters will have access to the tools and assets afforded to them by a powerful sponsor. the setting will be a pretty standard medieval Fantasy with some twists bordering on grimdark. the game will be exploring themes like the temptations of power and the sacrifice of heroes. session 0 and 1 will be free. this is a 5e campaign set to play weekly in a homebrew world of my creation. because of this, I can work in most character concepts don't be afraid to try something out. How to prepare

players will be asked to create a Roll20 account I will provide a setting guide that players should read PC creation can be made and/or finalized in a session 0 type situation, any prep you want to do in this regard is welcome though i use gotometing for voice and video you will need a mic, video is optional it

What I provide

I have a large library of content we can peruse to make characters including most 5E material and a lot of 3rd party stuff we will be using my Roll20 sub to prep and host this game . including all the maps and character sheets and such that come along with this we will be using my video conferencing program as well. it is free for use and download on the recipient end. may also be run in browser

Gameplay details

All of my games are PG 13, I don't really do romance stuff, I like gritty games but I'm usually light on the gore. I like to maintain a game that is action-packed and where everyone is comfortable and welcome, In fact, we will be using safety cards to make sure this is the case Players can expect a fair bit of anything and everything. NEW PLAYERS AND VETERANS ARE WELCOME. I love all aspects of the game and try to include opportunities to do most things. there will be some heavy role play moments and some heavy fight moments and some goo explorations moments as well. role play I often speak in 1st person, there is a fair amount of in-character talk, the story will be character driven and centered meaning you'll need to so some role play to make decisions as a group and interacting with NPCs to affect your world. Combat/tactics I'm not a DM vs Player person but I will be attempting to challenge you and I often run encounters tactically in hopes they will be both interesting and fun Exploration/social/puzzles encounter traveling through the wilds will be a big part of the game. While I don't like bookkeeping I find that caring about things like rations and weight limits and travel conditions makes for a more interesting exploration. There will likely be a fair amount of explorations I love social encounters and intrigue a major theme of this game will be temptation and succumbing to evil. I do like to gamify these sequences

How will character creation work

characters can be created beforehand but will need to be approved players can also create players during session 0 all characters are expected to be using the Roll20 character sheet, we can insert it into a sheet if you've made something already I allow all published WotC content all Unearthed Arcana (unless published) all Kobold Press Content All Mage Hand Press Content NO DND Wiki content we will be using the 4d6 drop lowest method for stats players will begin at level 2
