About the adventure
"Tell me, priest. Do you think the last world to see life will even realize what they are? Will they look out at the few dying stars and know they are seeing the end, or will they say to themselves: 'Ah, surely we are the seeds of something great!'" -Kathaakar the Storyteller This is a story about people who are near an end to the multiverse. Having developed Spelljamming technology, the nations of the world Treyvia have arranged a mighty expedition to search for other sapient societies. Will they find like-minded invividuals ready to interact? Or, will they have to enact the rumored Abbadon Protocol, a supposed secret plan to eliminate any potential threats to the people of Treyvia? For your skills, you have been recruited as part of a ground team; among those who are to be diplomats, explorers, or warriors, as the situation demands. But despite all the planning from above, the unexpected rears its head after a month-long journey in the Astral Plane. Most of the world your expedition was to explore is covered in a liquid void, and the things which emerge from within hint that whatever society exists on this world is likely not in an ideal state.

How to prepare
I use a combination of Discord for voice chat (so make sure to have that installed, and have a working microphone) and Foundry VTT for all the rest. For those not familiar Foundry requires no downloads, it is run through the browser. Part of session 0 will be an introduction to Foundry, and a tech test to see what everyone's computers/internet connections can handle. (For example, animated battle maps.) IF YOU ARE NEW TO DND 5E: Please let me know ahead of time if you are signing up. Session 0 already looks to cover a lot so I will try to get with you individually to teach you how to play. This is free if needed. Returning players who would like a refresher can also request this.
What I provide
Foundry VTT will handle things like character sheets and dice rolls for those who don't have their own. I will work with players to make a custom token for their character with Reroll. I have an expanding library of resources on Foundry including animated maps and tokens and animated spell effects. For those familiar with Foundry: Let me know if there are any modules you've seen used that you would like for our game. For example, there are DnD Beyond compatability modules that I don't personally use but can if anyone so wishes.
The free session 0 will be for setting establishment as well as character building (players will help establish some setting details as well). We will also go over metagame things like lines and veils. XNO cards and open door are listed but mostly I just want to be clear that I will foster an open environment where you can do what you need to do for your health. If you gotta walk away and don't want to explain why, that's fine. If you want to share a detailed list of things that you don't want approached as well as *why*, it's up to you. Be as private or as public with what you're comfortable with. Breaks will be placed somewhere in the middle of sessions. As a single father of five furbabies I absolutely must take this break to walk the dogs. But of course feel free to step away if you need to for whatever reason, biological or mental. As for the game itself, I run a fairly even mix of combat and roleplay. Exact ratios will vary depending on things like what the party decides to do, and what random encounters are rolled. I also run a pretty even split between whimsical and serious. General the plot itself will be serious but individual interactions can counterbalance that.

How will character creation work
The characters will start at level five, and we will discuss character creation during the free session 0. Feel free to come to the table with an idea in mind, or even a fully created character, but know that it isn't a requirement. Premade characters (one of each class) will be available if desired.
