About the adventure
The famous bard, and most honorable author of Volo's Waterdeep Enchiridion, Volothamp Geddarm is seeking adventurers! Serious inquires only! Apply with Durnan at the Yawning Portal Inn, conveniently located on Rainrun Street in the Castle Ward, right between Castle Waterdeep and Snail Street. Discretion is advised! -- Set on the Sword Coast of the Forgotten Realms, Waterdeep, is a perfect starting point for many great adventures! The campaign will be using the published WoTC campaign adventure, Waterdeep - Dragon Heist and 5e ruleset, with additional supplements and home brew tailored to suit the players enjoyment. As the name implies the module runs as a heist/investigation scenario with plenty of roleplaying and opportunities for combat. Prior experience is helpful but not required. Characters will start at level 1 and advance using experience points. Sessions will be held over Discord, using a battle mat and 3D miniatures. Access to a 3D printer allows to me to provide a unique experience for my players which truly enhances immersion. Even though we are playing digitally, I hope it will feel as if you are at the table with the personal touch this provides. As with every roleplaying experience the dynamic of the group will determine the nature of the experience. Session 0 will be conducted through direct messaging, email, or Discord. All published WoTC content and UA is welcome. For additional guidance on character creation inquire directly following registration. I will send a survey to each player upon joining to evaluate what type of experience level you may have, and what types of themes will serve the overall enjoyment of the group. I hope I see you at the Yawning Portal, cheers!
How to prepare
Webcam or mics are necessary. My own set up is pretty limited but I use my own camera and a microphone. Interruptions in audio quality may affect gameplay, and I will politely inform you if this is the case. Sessions will be held on Discord, no other software is required. You will need to create 1st level characters prior to the session, and familiarize yourself with the basic rules ahead of time. Youtube is an excellent resource and inspiration for this process. The campaign is set in the Forgotten Realms, but there is no limit on character race, background, or class. Character sheets will be sent directly to me for review. We will work together to create a fair game for everyone at the table. Bring your dice if you want, but there are plenty of digital options available. Expect to play for 3 hours minimum.
What I provide
Access to a 3D printer allows me to print minis that fit the description of your characters for use in our games. Inquire directly for details about printing or painting your models!
Running a heist/investigation adventure often entangles the players with a number of individuals who might help, or hinder, their efforts. Its up to the party to determine whose really got their backs! What has suddenly stirred the various rival factions to agitation? Dragon Heist is roleplay heavy, with a good chance for combat to occur at least once a session. I reward good roleplay, and encourage creative solutions to problems through experience point and inspiration rewards. The story takes place within the city of Waterdeep, but this won't limit the adventures you'll have uncovering the secrets of the City of Splendors!

(Third party or Homebrew content should inquire directly.) For additional guidance on character creation inquire directly, following registration.
