About the adventure

The deck creaks loudly beneath your feet as an eerie, yellow mist engulfs your ship and clings cold and clammy to your skin. The crewmen's fearful cries sound strangely distant and muffled. Time passes. Is it hours or mere moments? Suddenly, the mists part. A jagged, rocky mass looms ahead. The boatswain's whistle blares loudly sounding the alarm. Can the captain turn the ship in time? Or will you be stranded on... The Isle of Dread? This horror/fantasy re-imagining of the classic 1983 adventure combined with elements from Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft is a campaign designed for 4-5 players starting at level 1.

How to prepare

You will need a webcam/speakers and microphone or a headset. Little or no prior knowledge of the rules is not a problem. You may use a digital copy or hardcopy of your character sheet. Either virtual dice or real dice are acceptable. You must have a discord account. If you have a copy of the player's handbook for 5e, that's great, but you don't need it.

What I provide

The GM uses real dice and will provide all of the on-camera terrain, minis and the silly and scary voices. As mentioned above, if I know what kind of character you are playing, I will print a miniature for you to use during the game.

Gameplay details

This is a beginner game with an experienced GM, so extensive knowledge of the rules is not required. The role-play to combat ratio is approximately 50-50. The GM will provide minis and custom terrain for the session. Safety will be discussed before the session. This adventure is rated G to PG , but X,N,O cards will be used as a safety measure if all are in agreement. Requirements: a 5e character*, a discord account, dice (real or virtual), microphone/speakers or a headset.

How will character creation work

Players can create a character on their own, ask the GM for assistance before the session, or a pre-rolled character may be provided. If you let me know about your character ahead of time, I will print you a miniature figure that we can use during the session (unpainted).

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
