About the adventure

Heroes from all over the world are heading to Port Nyanzaru, City of Trade, to find their chance at ending a global curse. In a race against death, every moment matters--can you save the world before it's too late? The jungle is not a safe place. Carnivorous dinosaurs hunt in packs, undead plague the lowlands, and even the vegetation itself can make a meal of unsuspecting explorers. Thankfully, there are more than a dozen seasoned jungle guides available to lead your expedition. What could go wrong? This campaign is well-suited to both beginners and experts. It offers roleplay, combat, and exploration challenges that grow as the characters do, providing a consistently engaging game experience. This is my seventh time running this hardcover, and I have a library of modifications, additions, and auxiliary player options that enhance and enrich the material as written. I can hardly stop homebrewing unique and interesting class options, spells, and magic items, so expect the unexpected. If you have a concept you want to make story-real I'd love to hear about it!

How to prepare

Webcams are not required, though microphones are. A quick skim of the D&D Basic Rules (available online for free) is enough to get started. Character creation is a guided process. We'll meet at a convenient time of your choosing to briefly go over how your character came to be in the tomb, what their connections and motivations are, and what features you'd like to bring into the game.

What I provide

I have full virtual libraries of the adventure, published hardcovers (Roll20 and D&D Beyond), as well as a host of homebrewed items and other miscellany. I provide full-art handouts and even interactive puzzle pieces wherever possible, going so far as to leverage my decidedly amateur 'shopping skills to bring particularly zany ideas to visual life. If you'd like an example, email me at dmmarcog@gmail.com and I'll send over some things I've done.

Gameplay details

I am experienced in adhering to player boundaries and preferences. We will have X, N, and O cards available in the virtual interface, I will always be open to feedback, and I will make full note of any themes you wish omitted and ensure that they are. If at any point something comes up, even (especially) in the middle of a session, I will readjust as soon as you let me know something is wrong. Up front, I do not include explicit sexual content or any reference whatsoever to sexual violence in my games.

How will character creation work

I will host a short and free session 0 before the first game to discuss character creation and offer any assistance required. If you have a specific concept in mind, I will work with you to bring it to life. Players have the option of creating characters in Roll20 or using D&D Beyond with the Beyond20 Chrome extension to bridge the two platforms. D&D Beyond content sharing campaign is available, with all published content.
