About the adventure

The Spectaculars are a family of roving adventurers who travel, laugh, and fight together. My goal is to create a positive but playful rapport with characters in your party. You are a found family bonding with each other. Folks might bicker sometimes but you are all essentially kind-hearted people who want to put good out into the world. Causing a LITTLE trouble might be okay though :P This game CAN be run as family friendly!

How will character creation work

Character Creation Rules: - All official D&D is allowed (ask if there's homebrew you'd like to use) - 5th level (multiclass is allowed) - 1 common/uncommon magic item per person - Starting Equipment + 100g each of additional or upgraded equipment - Ask me any questions/requests if you have them! Stat Rolling: - roll 4d6, drop the lowest. Do this seven times - remove any one of the seven scores you end up with, so you have six total. - Assign your six stats however you'd like! - if you are STILL unhappy with your stats, you may use a standard array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8) Here are some 'nuclear family ' archetypes available for you to play. You are welcome to take on the role of: - Parent (At least two in the family) - please let me know if you are or are not comfortable playing a romantic partner with another player, and if you will coordinate with a player you know for spouses/partner characters. I can provide an NPC if not. - Adult Children - Grandparents - Eccentric Aunts/Uncles/Cousins/etc Any roles that aren't taken, I will possibly make an NPC to fill those roles. You are not limited by fantasy race or background choices: the parents of this family can have any number of biological and/or adopted children, and have brought them along! This is a found family, who do NOT all need be biologically related. All LGBTQ+ identities are welcome and encouraged for any family members. When you plan your character, don't get TOO hung up on mechanical optimizing. There may be combat, but we're going to be relying on "rule of cool" a lot over strict mechanics. Pick something you will enjoy RPing and describing! CHARACTER HOOK INSPIRATION If you would like, please request one of these plot hooks for your PC. Pick one or two in case some are taken. - You very recently died and were reincarnated as another (very different) fantasy 'race' from your original. The family is helping you adjust to this change. Have fun with your choices! - One of the PC's is in charge of the family's finances. You're in charge of the money box, and everyone is always asking you for advances on their allowance. It's a LITTLE bothersome - the driver, in charge of leading the pack animal (tbd) that pulls the family's caravan wagon home.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
