The Secret of Aspell Woods

About the adventure

On the southern end of the Sword’s Coast, deep in the eastern Forest of Tethir, lies a relatively unknown area called the Aspell Woods. Your party is traveling past the forest when you run into a strange wagon...and the weird encounters don't stop there. A strange individual will lead you into the forest where you will discover that a dark force is quickly consuming the land, and it is up to you to save the woods. This is a homebrew one shot written for 5-6 players of 3rd level. As such, backstories are not required, but I do appreciate you putting some thought into your character's personality!

How to prepare

Players will need a mic, a webcam is preferred but not necessarily required. Players also need to have discord, as that will be used for communication and sharing information. Dice can be rolled on DnD Beyond or Owlbear Rodeo, but personal sets can also be used.

Gameplay details

Players can expect a friendly environment where questions are welcome and no request is a foolish one. As long as you are patient and respectful I will help you get through any issues or questions you have. In regards to safety tools, every player will be asked before the session starts if they foresee any issues given the content warnings specified, and I will be happy to change things if certain issues need to be addressed. Additionally, players are welcome to message me at any point in the session to let me know if they have any problems or if something is making them uncomfortable, even simply sending a quick message of X or N. I well then debrief after sessions to see not only any issues we might have had, but also what people liked or disliked and what they would like to see in the future.

How will character creation work

Please come with your character already made, I will provide a DnDBeyond link for easy character creation, but you are welcome to use whatever you would like. Characters will be level 3, please use the standard or point buy method for generating stats, and standard equipment. Any officially published material is allowed. I am happy to help with any questions you may have about character creation.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
