About the adventure

It is April of 1850, during the height of British colonial power. Technological innovation and social reform seem to be vaulting England and the world into a gilded age of plenty, reason, and peace. Why, then, are all the jails and madhouses full? Why are the headlines filled with unexplained murders and missing people? And what is behind the strange article in The London Times, making references to people and places in the London area that simply do not exist? It could just a printing error.... but in the Times? Part historical fantasy, part gothic horror, 'The Last Drakenhof' is a narrative-driven 5e/GURPS adventure that completely overhauls the classic Curse of Strahd campaign book. As the sun rises over England, will she forget what she saw in the dark? A few notes: 1. Character class and abilities are severely restricted but heavily customized. While there are strange beings in this world that can defy the laws of nature, you are not one of them. Players are only allowed supernatural abilities which somehow leave room for rational explanation (illusionist, mentalist, spiritualist, ascetic monks, etc.) Players should expect to work with me to homebrew a character sheet that reflects the kind of person they want to play. 2. You have access to Victorian-era firearms ;) 3. The current cast is as follows: Daniel the Magnificent is a con artist and fortune teller (lvl 5 Rogue/Sorcerer) with an unwavering ability to read people. Even the most skeptical of Londoners might struggle to explain away his divinations. Charlotte Howard is a high-class prostitute-turned private investigator (lvl 5 Rogue swashbuckler/Fighter). Her beauty and confidence are profoundly disarming, but when diplomacy fails she resorts to her expertise in hand-to-hand combat and grappling maneuvers. Jane Mason is an archaeologist and Egyptologist who grew up in Cairo (lvl 5 Rogue thief) She is an expert climber and marksperson plagued by visions of an encroaching darkness she lacks the words to describe. Good fits for this party would be Doctors, priests, soldiers, hunters, writers, or any other person easy to imagine living in Victorian London.

How will character creation work

Very hands-on D&D Beyond character customization process where we homebrew as much as we need to make the character you want to play! From there, the sheet is seemly integrated with Foundry/
