About the adventure

For two seasons now, the farmlands to the North have become less fertile. The roads outside the safety of the city walls have become trafficked by more and more brigands and thugs. Fishing has become dangerous because of Outlaws on the water. Tales of people going missing have become more and more common in watering holes throughout all ports on the Gold Coast. From all major cities there have been families migrating South for some semblance of safety and a better quality of life. In any Temple of the Seven prayers of blessing and guidance are murmured each morning, with mothers and fathers hoping for safe passage and good tiding on their households. Followers of Pelor, arguably the most worshipped of the Seven throughout the land have begun to wonder if they have fallen from favor. Most have held firm to the life and homes that they love, and struggle through the hardship as a fleeting thing. While it is not yet a dire situation, there is certainly a an undercurrent of concern that some dark tidings have begun to stir the long-time peace in Asterpol. Although the continent is vast and has always remained home to uncanny beasts and arcane magics, most folk in the kingdom conduct their lives with a previously undisturbed peace -- but The First Signs are showing that something is afoot, and someone must rise to the occasion of uncovering exactly what can be done to reverse it. Session Zero will be held once the group is booked, with the Campaign officially kicking off the following week! Game time is Monday from 6-10 PST.

Additional Details

How to prepare

Each player will be invited to Discord and make sure that they have a functioning microphone and headset. Please have a relatively quiet environment so as not to detract from the immersion of others in the world! There will be an Info Sheet and channels setup for a professional and easy-to-use environment. Players should install Beyond20 in their Chrome Browser, or are welcome to make their rolls via the Roll20 platform. There will be information in Discord regarding character creation as well.

What I provide

I bring years of World Design and Dungeons and Dragons experience as well as a capable GM able to handle situations in an improvisational manner to make for a fluid and natural feel. Enjoy hand-crafted content, immersive music, and story-telling that really maximizes the digital platforms to help us in our goal of telling a compelling story. We also have access to resources such as the Dungeons and Dragons 5E Players Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, the Guide to Everything, Official Monster Manual and other resources.

Gameplay details

The First Signs is a campaign ideal for 4-6 players. We will run the DND 5E system in a high-fantasy/classic-fantasy world that will be split fairly evenly among RP, Combat, Skill Challenges, and Political/Social intrigue. We will start at Level 1 and grow by milestone. Ideally, this adventure is tailored to a party of "Heroes" that seek to prove themselves worthy of being a positive force in the realm. No harassment or indecent behavior will be tolerated at the table - we promote and expect others to promote fun and immersion. That being said, there will likely be cursing, violence and potentially even possibly some implied sexual content as well. All of these things are part of the World where this campaign occurs. There will of course be no explicit content specifically dealing with sensitive issues like suicide, sexual assault, etc. at the table or in the group.

How will character creation work

Characters will be created on DNDBeyond, and we will roll them together either in Discord or on Session Zero. Session Zero is a free session, where we will test the tokens, VTT, character elements, and do a general meet-and-greet!

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
