About the adventure

We join our heroes on their way to Phandalin, a small mining town along the Sword Coast in the Forgotten Realms. This beginner adventure takes players from 1st - 5th level and is perfect for anyone who is new to playing D&D. It will be an online campaign, using Owlbear Rodeo for maps and Discord for communicating, both of which are compatible with any internet browsers. I will provide anything you need, so you'll just need to bring yourself and a character, but feel free to come with your own dice and any other accessories you'd like. If you need help creating a character, I will be available before the first session to help out or to provide a pre-built character sheet. Feel free to message me with any questions!

How to prepare

We will use Owlbear Rodeo for maps and Discord for communication. Both of these can be used in an internet browser, so you won't need to install anything. You'll need a microphone to talk on Discord and, if you'd like, a webcam for video. Video is fully optional. I will be using my camera because of my tendency to talk with my hands, lol. Owlbear Rodeo supports digital dice rolling if you don't have your own set of physical dice.

What I provide

I will provide all other resources. All you'll need to bring is yourself and a character. Dice, paper and pencil, and any other accessories are all optional.

Gameplay details

Before the first session everyone will receive an RPG Consent Checklist to fill out so that I can make sure to omit any triggers from the campaign. At the end of every session, I'll individually message everyone to see if there was anything in the session that needs to be addressed. On the day of the first session, we'll review the safety rules to ensure that we're all on the same page.

How will character creation work

Each player will create their own 1st-level character to bring to the first session. If you need help creating your character, I am happy to assist you, either through voice/video chat or over text. I can also provide a pre-made character sheet to anyone who needs it. My preferred website for character creation is D&D Beyond, but I am happy to accommodate other sources or paper character sheets. When your character is complete, you'll send it to me for review.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
