About the adventure

This is a D&D 5e campaign in a custom setting, the Heartlands of Antalár - a world where everyone, from gods to common folk, is influenced by the Eleven Elements. A tattered notice is pinned to the door of the Adventurers' Guildhouse: "Specialist individuals always needed, easy money, high risk. Make new friends and crush your foes. Enquire within, every Fireday at sunset." Meanwhile, concerned members of the High Temple of the Riverlord are juggling numerous priorities: mysterious shadow beings coming up from the water, showers of magical stones falling from the sky, secretive meetings in the temple gardens, and the demands of visiting dignitaries. So little time, so much to do. And all the while, the Kingdom of Elvermond is feeling the pressures of internal division. This is an immersive, shared story, with a balance of roleplay, combat, exploration and mysteries to solve. Fortune, fame, or fun - which do you seek? Players of all levels of experience are welcome, from Critters to OSGers.

Additional Details

How to prepare

Zoom is the main gaming platform so mic and camera are needed. Combat or similar situations will use Owlbear Rodeo. GM will provide links. Player Character tokens for Owlbear Rodeo can be generated by the GM using artwork chosen and sent by players. Any familiarity with 5e D&D rules prior to Session 1 is greatly appreciated. Players and GM will work together to increase everyone's knowledge and understanding of the details as they arise. In particular, players are encouraged to familiarise themselves with their spells, tools, weapons and other equipment, and any special abilities related to their Class, Race and Background. Printed character sheets (GM can send) and real dice are recommended, online versions if preferred. Details of custom character races to be provided on request.

What I provide

Games will be conducted online so no real dice are provided. Owlbear Rodeo includes online dice or players can use any app on their phone or computer. Handouts and maps will be used on-screen and emailed occasionally, where needed. Players are encouraged to create or source artwork for their characters; GM can advise.

Gameplay details

Safety tools are covered in Session Zero or before that via email or private messages, if desired. During games, private chat messages can be used for in-game secret conversations or safety concerns. All players are encouraged to give their feedback in private or public as appropriate. While the game includes violence, death, and unpleasant experiences, these are of the typical fantasy type and are not dwelt upon. Where players have specific triggers (eg spiders) these will be avoided. Players will be sent some setting background details and questions about their character prior to Session Zero; new players especially will receive additional support in learning the game. Session Zero will also cover final decisions on main Character stats, background, spells, equipment etc, and a brief starting encounter. Players are expected to focus on the game and avoid distractions from social media etc.
