About the adventure

Surviving Upon Iron Serpents is a campaign with a subtle Arcanepunk setting in the world of Corrida (Cor-ree-da). You and your friends are survivors up on gargantuan Train that is packed with several thousands of other survivors. Survivors of what you may ask, a deadly plague that swept through the land. Despite the discord and fear that swept the unprepared nations of the world, a secretive organization known as Ouros developed these magical trains and provided everyone aboard the means of maintenance and repair that would be required, but also gave the survivors on board the ability to defend themselves with 5 armored military cars, and useful means of self sustainability. Fifty years have passed since the plague ripped through the land, and you and your fellow survivors have been aboard the train at this point all your lives. At the age of eighteen you were conscripted into the Serpent Defense Force as are all children of the Train, and trained to fight off the many threats that your people have faced. Yet, fifty years has seen this Iron Serpent a slew of combats and dangers. People lost to the Plagued managing to get inside, beasts simply angered by your presence through their territory, and weather shifts you didnt know could exist. Three days ago, your Iron Serpent the "Azure Drake" connected with another, the "Whisper Dawn" and traded goods and materials, even a few training secrets. Rumor through the ranks, "The conductor's all received a signal, we might finally be able to rebuild. But where would be safe from the Plagued." As the two IS's separated and went on their own way, the hum of excitement over a rumor began to buzz throughout the entire Azure Drake. This hum however was silenced when the AD's intercoms came on, and the current administrator's voice came... *This is where your story begins Conscript.*

Additional Details

How to prepare

Come with a Webcam and Mic, everyone being able to see each other allows for everyone to not talk over each other. Also, be expected to have me ask how your day was. I genuinely give a damn about how my players are feeling, and will always try to tailor some good mood swingers based on stuff like that.

What I provide

I will be bringing prepared and unprepared material to the session, notes and the like will be ready, and you may have sessions with no battle maps and battle maps. Sometimes it is not in my time frame to develop a map based on the idea of conflict I have.

Gameplay details

Sessions will involve RolePlay from the players, so engagement is a must. This is setting that you will have superiors and your actions/words/body language will be noticed and have consequences. While the idea of being the hero is a positive idea for the character to have it isnt one that will be a focus of the game, you are conscripts who will be given tasks that can hold a moderate to great impact the Azure Drake as a whole and depending on success, you can get promoted through the ranks, to a point where your actions can truly affect the entire fate of your people. Combat is not a place for the timid, though when facing a horde of plagued that seek to add you to their mysterious army, fear can take hold. You will have the opportunity to innovate new defenses, methods for survival, sustainability for the people, and even ancient magical artifacts thought lost to the plagued. The people who own shops will place requests for resources, and supplies to make new wears, and culinary delights. The military will task you with scouting and slaying tasks. In your downtime, what will you do? Get to know the people, play with the local kids aboard your car, or investigate one of the many gangs aboard the Azure Drake that try to take control of the cars leadership or just generally bully those aboard. This is a game that I love to run as it is one that is good for all GMs and PCs, for me, I do my best to adhere to using common sense and "No, but.." with very few instances of just flat No. Some things like high powered magical items will of course be hard to come by. For PCs I encourage the creativity that you come up with. Want to design a new crossbow/ballista for the better defense of your IS, lets see how your go about drawing up schematics etc. and of course many other options. While your backstories are locked into being upon this train, you have many ways to design how your backstory integrates into your cars.
