About the adventure

Images of my D&D in Foundry vtt: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/12Mt9ci_2LYBCXZVGpgZeGcWff_HjMyyb?usp=sharing Table Experience: Games at my table are focused on having fun. Players acting in character roleplaying with bizarre NPCs, tactical and mechanic-focused combat keeping you on your toes, exploring a lore-dense world that reacts to what you do, all of these aspects are what to expect in my D&D sessions a majority of the time. The level of focus on these aspects depends on the type of group playing. Many groups prefer to deal with conflicts using Roleplaying, highly strategic groups with min-maxed builds will want to engage in combat more often, some groups interact with the world to solve problems. I give more opportunities for groups based on their interest level in these pillars of D&D, but I ensure there are a variety of ways to handle anything and I will reward players for ingenuity and creativity. My Campaigns feel like action-adventure movies, some conflict is always going on for the PCs to deal with, but players can take their time and mess around if they want to. I prefer a mix of comedy and serious in D&D, so there is likely to be silliness as well as true danger to deal with. You'll travel through grasslands, forests, and hills, into dusty old structures, dungeons, and caves, to find clues concerning Gundren Rockseeker, the Dwarf with your gold reward! He and others will need your help, and so you will step foot into the dangerous and interesting areas around Phandelin. You will do whatever you can to help Gundren as well as the townsfolk so that you can continue your adventuring life. A dwarf named Gundren Rockseeker has asked you to bring a wagonload of provisions to the rough-and-tumble settlement of Phandalin, a couple of days' travel southeast of the big city. Gundren was excited and more than a little secretive about his reasons for the trip, saying only that he and his brothers had found "something big," and that he'd pay you ten gold pieces each for escorting his supplies safely to Barthen's Provisions, a trading post in Phandalin. He then set out ahead of you on horseback, along with a warrior escort named Sildar Hallwinter, claiming he needed to arrive early to "take care of business." Other information about this beginner's module- In my history of running this Campaign, it takes an average of 16-20 sessions to complete a majority of its content. Depending on the players it could be less or more. The + means that this Campaign may contain heavily edited or newly added content, usually involving player character backstory elements. This Campaign can lead into a longer term Homebrew campaign up to Level 20 if players wish to continue after the Module ends.

How to prepare

You will need a computer to use Foundry. You need a Discord account for communication and a working microphone that doesn't have background noise or echo your audio. Imagination and willingness to have fun!

What I provide

I'm bringing the intensity of someone who puts way too much time into building games of this nature. FoundryVTT for gaming. I'm running all sorts of modules to clean up, speed up, and enhance the D&D experience both for myself and for you. DungeonDraft for combat maps. When it comes to combat in dungeons in the forests, in caverns, or castles, they should be looking rather spiffy to bring you more immersed into that area, and hopefully allow for your tactical grooviness to shine even brighter than ever before. Occasional background ambient soundscapes, and music.

Gameplay details

My games are all-inclusive, anyone can sign up to play. We'll use safety tools to ensure Players are not made uncomfortable while playing. During, before, and after Session 0 will discuss what topics shouldn't be included or would cause a "Fade to Black," using the Lines and Veils Safety Tool during Session 0 or before. Topics will be noted anonymously and made clear to the Party.

How will character creation work

Level is decided by Campaign/One-Shot, in this case Level 1. Point Buy stats. You may use https://chicken-dinner.com/5e/5e-point-buy.html to do this. Maxed out fixed HP at all Levels. Get an extra Feat at Level 1. No Eberron Mark options for character creation, everything else WotC official is fine. Homebrew must be discussed with GM. Take base starting equipment, and High starting Class Gold from the table I'll give you, which you may use to purchase any non-magical equipment from the Players Handbook. Your INT modifier (such as +1, +2, +3, +4, +5,) correlates to points you may use to gain proficiencies. 1 point may give you proficiency for a skill (like Insight or Animal Handling,) a weapon/armor, a tool, or a language, and you can use a point to gain expertise in a skill you're already proficient in.

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: High

  • Roleplay: High

  • Puzzles: Medium

  • Experience Level: Beginner
