About the adventure

Welcome! I would like to invite you to "Spelljammer ~ Explorers of the Multiverse". Prepare to set sail across the stars to world unknown and adventures only imagined. This campaign will use the published adventures from the campaign setting and will use Roll20 to keep track of maps and die rolls. The platform is easy to use and has a wealth of resources to teach you how to use and learn the interface. You are expected to keep a character stored on the Roll20 page, or offline, however you like. For voice, we will use Discord. I ask that you have a mic that works and that you have made characters prior to play. There will be a text channel so you can touch base with other players to make sure there is party balance. If you are a new character coming in, and need to make a character of a height level, please see the Dungeon Master’s Guide p.38 (high magic option) for details on items and equipment. I am a DM who likes fast-paced games with a balance of role-playing, character development, exploration and combat. All of these, in my opinion, are essential to an engaging quality play experience. New players are always welcome in my games as well as veteran players. It has been my experience that players look for different things when gaming, and I try to provide a tailored experience to everyone. For this reason, I might ask questions about what you like best about RPG's so that I can incorporate that into play. I have over 10 years of experience in this regard and I know what makes a pleasurable game. I have a few table rules that I implement so that everyone has a good time: 1. Facilitate others' enjoyment of the game. 2. Be ready to act when your turn comes up in combat 3. Expect inspiration to be awarded for role-playing, or clever resolutions to problems in the story Character creation is as follows: 1. Point buy 2. You may use the Spelljammer Character options, as well as the most recently published character options from WOTC hardback books. 3. All classes and background options are fine 4. Playtest options from "One D&D" are fine 5. Please run your character concept by me first, especially if its novel and quite odd. I will probably not let you be a half-demon paladin with lycanthropy. Sorry. 6. Absolutely no homebrew or 3rd party options.

Additional Details

How to prepare

You should make sure you have familiarized yourself with Discord and Roll20 prior to game. You need to make sure that you have a mic that works and that you are able to utilize push to talk during play.

What I provide

I will provide the gaming experience. Dice are embedded within the roll20 interface. Maps and tokens will be uploaded to the platform prior to game.

Gameplay details

Though I use the rules as written, I place a greater emphasis on the story line and your personal enjoyment. Though I like combat, I want combat to go quickly and be fast paced. I always try to ensure time doesn't get bogged down. Role-play is important to me, but I understand that everyone has different comfort levels, so I am able to differentiate and tailor this to your approach.

How will character creation work

Character creation will happen on Roll20. You may use your own resources when creating a character. I never have players "roll" characters and always use the point-buy method. Roll20, and D&D Beyond have great tools to use for character creation. After creating the character, you can go back in and edit to make any changes.
