About the adventure

This Free session 0 game is specifically to put together a group of players, see if they gel well, decide on a system, write up basic characters and fill out the RPG Consent Checklist to set boundaries for the game, and maybe do a light session to see if the group works together and wants to play in a full campaign. Discord and Roll20 may be used depending on the system chosen.

How to prepare

No webcam necessary, Discord Voice over Mic will be a requirement, so make sure your mic is decent. If your computer can use Discord and Roll20, those are my preferences, make sure you can use both beforehand. The nature of the system chosen will decide whether we use dicebots or Roll20's systems, but that's to be expected. If we run Lancer, you should find a suitable Mech Icon for Roll20 for your starting Everest mech, and similarly crunchy systems will need an icon you like for your character. Personally, I like using tiny portraits that fit in a 5 foot square, but that's just me.

What I provide

This is a Discord/Roll20 game most likely, so we'll be using discord bots or Roll20 devices. Mostly theater of the mind unless the game chosen is very crunchy. If we go to a full campaign, I'll ask one of my artist friends for the game to be a little bit fancier on the art side. But again: this is the session 0.

Gameplay details

NOTE: This game is explicitly meant to be a free Session 0 to gauge whether or not a group of players is good for a campaign, and to determine whether or not such a game should go forward. It is also meant to fulfill all the standard expectation setting roles of a session 0. Players will discuss characters, motivations, and systems they would like to play, and the GM will also discuss their expectations. The plan is to create a good, solid foundation for a campaign going forward. However, if a good, safe game with a clearly defined RPG Consent Checklist cannot be defined by the end of this Session 0, it will not go forward. How will character creation work

This is a session 0 meant to familiarize players with each other, the GM, and possibly even the gaming system they choose. Characters will be created in-session, and then taken out for a spin, as it were, in a short encounter designed to briefly see how the party functions.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
