About the adventure
The pumps are working overtime, mechanisms falling apart at the corroding salt, minerals and other bits and bobs of the fantastical sea. Further aided in its own destruction by the pumps working 24 hours of the day, well past its recommended limits, there is money to be made after all. The new dam and the pumps in unison allow the reclamation of the city of Myth, laid rest under the waves for thousands of years. Every guild with a stake in the creation of the new dam has first exploration rights on the drying floors. Some even venturing into the floors under water. You are a group tasked with the liberation and claiming of the said floors for a guild which doesn't wish to be named. Monsters, traps and worst of all other people trample on your slim chances at making a fortune. While this is where you start, the whispers and currents under the city's outward appearance, pulls you deeply into its grasp. ------ Some additional information on the city and its inhabitants. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1elAV3mOvaswTsmgjQbRpJbFfw50zp2R9rYnTMKr385o/edit?usp=sharing ------ How the city got its name is not much of a mystery, however who said it first is up for debate. The meaning laying in that let us rebuild the mythical city, hence Remyth. Now the city is about to celebrate its 550th anniversary and many new traditions have had time to spring up and die. The oldest surviving parts of the city is underwater, which is about to be partially reclaimed as the pumping of seawater shall begin at the christening of the gargantuan Dam between two castles. Castle Hills are four “Hills” which have castles from times of yore on them, the four mountains that are mostly underwater by this point. They line the coast to the west. There is another castle, which technically due is also part of the Castle Hills on paper, but none do actually call it that. It is a constructed pillar upon which a castle lays, a modern but 35 year old construction. Termed Vain Hill, due to the obvious unnecessary spending of cash to build a massive pillar to stand a castle on. The throne for the city sits empty, as a symbol that one person can’t sit above anyone. It has never had a leader, instead a council formed from the city districts, each district consist of several Branches. Each district has an equal amount of voting power. A new district is formed whenever a new area gains enough branches to require one. Each district has a voting power of 1 for each 10.000 people. This has lead to several legal battles and actual battles as the number of citizens fluctuate. The recount is held every 5 years and is a massive undertaking, not to mention the amount of bloodshed that happens behind closed doors. Massive amount of people move to richer districts as they get paid to do so, many people move as they are coerced. Many stay hidden or live there 3 times.
