    About the adventure

Welcome one-and-all to Pirates of Pangia! Pirates of Pangia is a Dungeons and Dragons campaign in a play-when-you-can format, also known in the D&D sphere as a West Marches campaign. This game is meant for those of us that are busy with life, but also want incredible D&D experiences while meeting incredible people. Pirates of Pangia will be guided by YOU, the players! This means that the players will decide what they want to explore and the stories they tell within the world. Important to note that this game will specifically aim for gender, racial, and sexual diversity. I invite those of us who are looking for that sort of game to climb aboard! Ahoy, Mateys! I am heavily influenced by NADDPOD (Not Another D&D Podcast) and the CollegeHumor/Dimension 20 style of play for this campaign. This means, to paraphrase my GM profile, there will be plenty of roleplay with goofs and jokes balanced with serious moments when the time calls. All the non-player characters will have their own voices and you'll certainly become just as good of buds with NPCs as you are with your fellow players. Backstories will certainly be incorporated into the world, so get to thinking! Combat will be just as involved, but I tend to keep it looser, and I encourage you all to get creative with your choices as well. In addition, I plan to keep combat theatre-of-the-mind, so no maps, which can sometimes slow the flow of the game and make it a bit too mechanical. All in all, take big swings and there will be epic story-telling moments! Additionally, you won't have to worry about counting your arrows or rations, and I will be sure that you understand the situation before you make any moves. I am not a DM that roots against their players, and anything that happens to your character can be modified to ensure that we all have as much fun as possible at the table! I think that is most of the nitty gritty. So if after reading that things are still smooth waters and sunny skies, let's get you excited with a prelude to Pirates of Pangia! "Years ago, Marlilly was a bustling port, filled with swashbucklers, marauders, buccaneers, picaroons, scurvy dogs, and old salty sailors that docked their sloops, galleys, and ketchs in the Marlilly harbor for a chance to rest their sea legs, restock supplies, sell their plunders, and most importantly, partake in drinking and swapping stories in Scurvy & Salt, the town’s tavern. It was truly a Pirate’s paradise. But, not anymore. The reason why lost to time, but Marlilly’s docks grew empty and Scurvy & Salt grew quiet. Marlillians slowly moved away and the town grew into disrepair. Now, the dilapidated sea-side, shanty town is a place for opportunity. Rumor on the wind says Tonny “Two-Finger” Ponderosa, the owner of Scurvy & Salt and a former crusty captain, has their old sloop, Pangia’s Pearl, sea-worthy once again. The Pangia archipelago is ready to be explored from Marlilly once more. Now, all it needs is you, a crew of green adventurers ready to hoist a sail into the deep blue unknown." So, you have made it to the end, I hope you are as excited as I am! For this Session 0, it will be a time we can meet each other, talk about how the game would work, and create your character for this world! Also, Session 0 is FREE! So bring any friend, family member, or significant other to the session who may be interested! New players and beginners are more than welcome, basically everyone I have DM'ed for has been a new player at the start! I plan on charging $10 per game once you are past session 0. Also, I plan for all sessions to be PG-13, so kids and teenagers are most certainly welcome! We will have a discussion before we start each game to determine what is off the table for that particular night.
