About the adventure

A cursed moon hurtles through the multiverse, crashing from one plane to the next, never at rest, forever fleeing a catastrophe that predates existence itself. Behold the Planebreaker! Path of the Planebreaker is a planes-spanning campaign using the Cypher System, where your PCs get pulled into the wake of the Planebreaker - a mysterious moon that travels the multiverse. You will explore different wondrous planes of existence, meet strange and exciting characters, face great dangers, and maybe even unravel the mystery of the Planebreaker itself. Path of the Planebreaker is greatly inspired by the classic Planescape setting, and indeed you can expect to go to many iconic locations from Planescape and Spelljammer. Characters begin at Tier 1. Most descriptors and foci are allowed but please check with me first. All flavors except Technology are allowed. Your character has joined with other recent arrivals to survive and explore the planes and uncover the mysteries of the Planebreaker, so please create characters that have an incentive to explore the planes and work well with others, as well as get involved in the mysteries of the Planebreaker. Your characters won’t see home again (for a while at least)! The game itself will be heavy on exploration and role-playing, with some combat, and light puzzles. You will start at Tier 1 and will have a wide range of available player options.

Additional Details

How to prepare

You should have a good Internet connection and a good microphone (cameras optional). You should have a Roll20 account (free) and latest version of Discord installed. You can read the rules ahead of time (I will share the book with you) and look at character options available both in the generic Cypher System and in the Path of the Planebreaker products.

What I provide

I will share all relevant Cypher System books through Google Drive, as well as music and sound effects (through Discord), and maps and handouts and tokens through Roll20.

Gameplay details

Players can expect a lot of creative freedom and input into the setting, creating a custom character arc for their characters (with Game Master's assistance), and being able to approach any situation in many different ways. The game will be using Roll20 for rolling, maps, handouts, etc., and Discord for voice and camera (camera optional). We will have a session zero to create characters together, discuss lines and veils and content, and expectations for the game.

How will character creation work

We are using the Cypher System Revised edition. Characters begin at Tier 1 and we will create characters together during session zero (though by all means bring character ideas to the table). Most descriptors and foci are allowed but please check with me first. All flavors except Technology are allowed.
