About the adventure

Have you ever wanted to play Alice in Wonderland as a survival game? If so, this DnD adventure is for you! You will be braving the dark depths of the underdark, trying to scratch and claw your way out. The underdark is a harsh and unforgiving place, but it is also full of wonder. While there is gloom, there is light. And you are trying to reach that light..... This game will be a bit gritty and start out with you as a slave. I will not go into great detail into disconcerting topics, but they will come up. That being said, it will have a chance for fun and some laughter based on the players. The tone of the atmosphere is set, but the tone of the game is up to the players. I can make this game a grim dark gritty game of survival, or a game with jokes and lightheartedness despite the gloomy environment. I will provide options for both, but the overall decision is your. I can't wait to play with you all!

Additional Details

How to prepare

Have a mic, a Roll20 account (free) and do your best to remember important rules when they are told. You will not need to bring a pre-made character sheet or have your own dice. Roll20 provides it all, so just be ready to play and learn as you go. If you have a token or image that you want your character to look like, then just have it ready and let me know!

What I provide

The adventure for Out of the Abyss will provide maps, tokens, and your character can have their own special token as well.

Gameplay details

We will be using the Out of the Abyss adventure. The maps are done by professionals, so it will look pretty. All you need is a desire to play since there are pre-made characters, but if you have a character concept ready at the start of the session we can take time to quickly make your character. You will start out as a slave, trying to escape your drow captors. You are not a creature of the underdark and want to escape. To see the sun again. How you accomplish this is up to you. Roleplay, combat, persuasion, etc is based upon player actions. Just be ready for some combat, and a decent amount of roleplay. This is a campaign that is expected to go from level 1-15, so be ready for an epic journey from rags to glory.

How will character creation work

You will all be level one and everything will be done on Roll20. if you have DnD beyond you can use Beyond20 to transfer/use the character on Roll20. I have not used Beyond20 however, so I would not be able to help guide you. If you want to make a character come with a concept, otherwise I have 44 pre-made characters for use. Tasha’s is only allowed if the other players are fine with it. (The main issue is power creep, but please please please do not pick a class that always uses a bonus action every turn in tashas. It slows down combat a lot.) Also, if you want to make a character or use skills use the i (compendium) on roll20 to find and drag over the desired item. It makes things easier, but only holds basic phb stuff in it.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
