About the adventure
Welcome to Middle Earth. This campaign will cover 30 years between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings in Adventures of Middle Earth. Adventures in Middle Earth is a conversion of D&D 5E and uses the core mechanics of that game. The campaign is set in the Wilderland, the area around and including Mirkwood Forest. The Dwarves retook Erabor and the Men of the Lake killed Smaug in the year 2941 of the Third Age, The Fellowship of the Ring does not leave Rivendell until December of the year 3018 of the Third Age. In those intervening 77 years much happened. This is a story of some of what happened in that time. It is the story of Men, and Elves, and Dwarves as they fight to keep the Light in the Wilderland. Of course their efforts will fail, but will they fail? Will our heroes fail, or will they slow the inevitable decline until it is past their time?

How to prepare
The players will need a Zoom account, a free Roll20 account, and a microphone. Physical dice and a webcam are both strongly encouraged but not necessary. The Roll20 account will just be for an easy way to have the character sheets.
What I provide
I will be bringing a full campaign that will be run in what is called the Theater of the Mind. Theater of the Mind means that there will be little if anything other than verbal descriptions.
Gameplay details
This campaign will be set over the course of 30 years in game, each year has at least one adventure that happens during it as well as down time that will be played out. There will also be plenty of opportunity for the Company to go on self directed adventures.

How will character creation work
Characters will be created during the first session as a group at level one. While none of the characters need to have ever met before, this will allow some bonds to form during character creation as well as creating what will be ultimately a fully formed group.
Players can expect
- Combat/Tactics: Medium
- Roleplay: High
- Puzzles: Low
- Experience Level: Open to all
