"Gambling with Death" | Learn to Play City of Mist

About the adventure

You and your companions are "special" -- maybe even "gifted." At some point each of you started to manifest special powers of a sort. Magic, maybe? Superpowers or...or...something LEGENDARY. But also, it seems that no one else has noticed, or cares...or they forget in time. They rationalize it...I mean, no one can actually do the things you do, so they don't really believe it, even when they see it. Something works on them...makes them forget or explain it away. They just can't believe their eyes, so they just don't/ And something makes them look away, see something else...or just pretend it didn't happen. It's so strange. And then somehow you found others "like you" that are also gifted. Special. People who also want to do good. Who want to make things "right." And you have decided that while you continue to live your mundane lives, you will also band together to understand more about what is going on in the odd world you live in. This city...this district...this neighborhood. There is corruption throughout this city...and you suspect that something...or somethings..."special" is behind at least some of it. Can you do something about it? Can you make this city better? Let's play to find out!

How to prepare

Please be prepared with: 1. Working Mic (Webcam not required but strongly recommended) 2. Free Discord account, and understand the basics of using it. Game time will not be used for Tech Support. 3. Decent internet speeds that can handle using FoundryVTT while streaming audio and video. 4. A desire to roleplay and collaborate with everyone else. This game is far more collaborative that most RPGs so players will play a significant part in world building as we go. :)

What I provide

I will provide a Discord server just for the campaign. I will also give access to the rules you need to know to play (there will be a lot of in-game learned as we go). I will provide the Foundry VTT hosted table to play on and handle dice rolls.

Gameplay details

We will have a Session 0 to discuss lines and veils, character creation and relationships, etc. I also send out surveys for feedback on the game as we go (stars and wishes) and also have an Open Door in Discord.

How will character creation work

I will provide pre-generated characters to get started quickly and learn the game. We can certainly work on making your own custom character if you have your own character ideas that you want to play once you get a feel for the game and how it all works.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
