I'm here to cordially invite you to the Forgotten Realms to a quant little town of Phandalin. Here, you and your cohorts will be tasked with helping the town with various tasks that require a more skilled hand. All the while, the threat of a cruel White Dragon looms over you as you traverse the lands. Are you the type of adventurer who seeks out to help others, or maybe just line your pockets with a little extra coin? No matter your motivations, Phandalin needs you and they're looking for folks fresh to the Realm and its Games.

How to prepare
Players will need the following: - Discord - Roll20 account - Microphone (Webcam optional) Everything about play and involving your character is done through Roll20, so no need for dice or a character sheet. If you want to browse basic rules before play, they can be found on dndbeyond, but it is not required. We will learn to play together.
What I provide
-Roll20 with dynamic lighting and music/sound -Safe environment for new players to come together to learn, but also a place for a veteran player/DM to play if they'd like as well.
Gameplay details
In this game, you can expect a few safety measures to be in place for the benefit of everyone and the fun of the game! Session Zero's are important to go over what you may want out of the game and any house rules used, if any. This is also a time for me, as the DM, to go over any aspects of play that may be problematic for any reason. I will never ask to go into any personal detail, nor will it result in hard feelings. As a DM, I relish the challenge of mixing up the adventure a little bit! Player safety is #1! The gameplay itself is a good balance of combat and roleplaying. ROLEPLAYING?! It's ok, funny voices, or period specific ways of speaking are not needed. If you want to bring a voice, that's great! If not, you already have a great voice for roleplay! My games have never had a serious tone, which doesn't mean there isn't tension or drama. As a DM, I love the "Rule of Cool", letting the dice do the talking and just having fun. We will be using the pre-generated characters for the adventure, as these are made for the intended use of new players. Don't let this discourage your swag though! We can re-flavor just about anything, it's our world after all! There is a Discord server for the games where you will be able to contact me directly if you have any questions or comments. But, more importantly, it gives you a place to speak with your fellow adventurers. I've always found it's great to have a place to go over things that happened, or even just somewhere to ask player questions that may not always come up organically. This is also required as it is the primary communication method used for the game sessions. With Discord, some players choose to not want to use a camera for whatever reason, which is perfectly fine. I am always open to the option of using video chat during sessions, but only if it can be agreed on by the group. I find that it has a great benefit it preventing talking over one another and some of us are rather expressive with our bodies as we talk. Again, it's always an option, but never meant to make anyone feel required to use. Lastly, how much do you need to know about DnD before playing? Nothing! What do you need to start playing? An account on roll20.net, which is free and also access to Discord, also free. I find that getting right into it is the best way to learn and there is always time for questions!

How will character creation work
The characters used will be the pre-generated characters that come with the adventure: - Dwarf Cleric - Elf Wizard - Halfling Rogue - Human Fighter This won't mean that only one person can play a rogue. These are just the best races/classes to help new players learn the game, but I'd never say no to a party of rogues, no matter how ill advised it may be. Once you've selected which character you would like to play, feel free to color/flavor spells, ability or personal flair to fit your character best. Just know, you can't make yourself more powerful this way, you have to earn that!
Players can expect
