Intro to D&D 5e: Character Creation + Q&A

About the adventure

An open-forum kind of session centered on creating a character in DnD Beyond (DDB) and providing a safe space for folx to ask any questions about D&D 5e. The session will be live-streamed publicly on Twitch so that Twitch-viewers can also benefit from the experience. Each player will get to create their own level-3 character in DDB using any/all of the sourcebook material. Players will also get to ask any D&D-related questions in a welcoming, non-judgmental environment. I'm very patient and I love teaching people about D&D so I'm happy to answer any questions as I guide people through the character creation process. This session is ideal for new or beginner players, but could also be fun for anyone that has some questions about character creation or GMing. Depending on how character creation goes, we may also do some some combat or role-play practice. The session will be conducted via Zoom. Players are welcome to leave their cameras off and/or go by a screen name if they wish to protect their privacy (for the purposes of the live-stream). Players' voices will be heard on the live-stream either way.

How to prepare

What you will need prior to the session: -A functional webcam, mic, and headphones connected to your computer -the Zoom application already downloaded and installed -Once players are approved for the adventure, I will send them a link to join my DDB campaign. I have content-sharing enabled, which will allow players to make a character on DDB using all of the current sourcebook material.

What I provide

All the DnD 5e Sourcebooks, a master-tier DDB subscription, custom maps, pro Zoom subscription. Players will have a DDB character sheet to keep for the future.

Gameplay details

I utilize the Script Change tool-set for player-safety. If at any time a player feels uncomfortable, they can publicly or privately request a pause. If a pause is requested, we will immediately suspend game-play in order to decide whether to rewind and avoid whatever situation made the player uncomfortable or fast-forward to skip over it.

How will character creation work

-We will be making level-3 characters during the session. -We will only be using official D&D 5e content. -We will be using DDB to create character sheets and roll dice.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
