Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden
Dungeons & Dragons 5e on Discord, Foundry VTT
About the adventure
Eternal darkness reigns over lands far in the north. Years have passed since the sun's shine has been seen in Ten Towns. Adventure, glory, and loot await you in the vast tundra ready to be explored. Will you brave the frozen wastes and end this lasting darkness? Book Intro: Beneath the unyielding night sky, you stand before a towering glacier and recite an ancient rhyme, causing a crack to form in the great wall of ice. Beyond this yawning fissure, the Caves of Hunger await. And past this icy dungeon is a secret so old and terrifying that few dare speak of it. The mad wizards of the Arcane Brotherhood long to possess that which the god of winter’s wrath has so coldly preserved—as do you! What fantastic secrets and treasures are entombed in the sunless heart of the glacier, and what will their discovery mean for the denizens of Icewind Dale? Can you save Ten-Towns from the Frostmaiden’s everlasting night? Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden is a tale of dark terror that revisits the forlorn, flickering candlelights of civilization known as Ten-Towns and sheds light on the many bone-chilling locations that surround these frontier settlements.
How to prepare
A decent mic and Discord. We will be using Foundry for gameplay and character sheets but I would recommend having a dndbeyond account for character creation to help go through ideas and make things quicker.
What I provide
I will bring the Adventure and all relevant D&D 5e content and information. Maps will be on Foundry, I like having maps as often as possible but some areas will be theater of the mind.
This game is somewhat of a horror/survival setting. Set in the frozen wastes of the far north you will be braving the icy wilderness, battling avalanches and blizzards, and of course fighting some monsters of the more icy variety. Icewind Dale is also somewhat of a mystery setting while the players are trying to discover the goings on in Ten-Towns and solve the problem of the everlasting night.

How will character creation work
Generally I am pretty lax on character ideas and such, so as long as it isn't going to conflict with other players I'll probably be fine with it. The main exception being Evil alignment characters, if the whole group wants to be an evil party then I can roll with that but it needs to be unanimous.
Players can expect
