About the adventure

When a group of adventurers become lost in a blizzard, the small homestead of Hrokstead seems like welcome shelter. But our heroes will quickly find that something is amiss, with hunger and storms being the least of their concerns. The only thing better than playing a horror one-shot is getting to play it with the author as your DM, and raising money for charity while you play! Join me for a chilling adventure taking place in Icewind Dale during the time of Auril's Rime; select from a cast of Level 3 Pregen's specifically created for the module.

How to prepare

Players will need a mic, and a place with no/limited background noise. I am happy to help troubleshoot sound issues, and want to do so early. Use of a webcam is not required, but is preferred because it helps me to connect better with you and your player experience. Players should be lightly familiar with the general rules of D&D 5e, either through reading the PHB or by playing one session before. I am happy to (and delight in) helping out novice players!

What I provide

I will bring pre-built Roll20 rooms, complete with Dynamic Lighting. Though we will utilize Theatre of the Mind for some encounters, more complex battles will have proper maps. I will also use our Discord chat in order to share some text-blocks if necessary.

Gameplay details

This game will include suspense, mention of cannibalism, horror, and feelings of isolation. The adventure also addresses the harm done by colonialism to indigenous peoples. We will begin the session with a discussion of these themes, player limits, and preferred safety tools to ensure a comfortable experience for all.
