About the adventure

"Hunt for the Thessalhydra" is the iconic dungeon adventure played by the kids from Stranger Things! Don't worry if you've never played! This is a great intro to D&D as well as a great one-shot for experienced players! If you have any questions you can email me at dmmattg@gmail.com I am also more than happy to have a pre-game session 0 with each player to ensure they understand how to read their character sheet as well as the basics of Roll20.

How to prepare

We will use Roll20 for maps and combat and Zoom for online video and voice, so you'll need access to those apps (recommend using Roll20 on Chrome due to the extension). Players will either pick a pregenerated character sheet from the adventure, or provide a character sheet (through D&D Beyond) and have a webcam/microphone set up for the online game. For character creation: 1) Make a 3rd level character in D&D Beyond (dndbeyond.com) 2) To simplify dice rolls, please install the Beyond20 chrome extension found here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/beyond-20/gnblbpbepfbfmoobegdogkglpbhcjofh?hl=en Feel free to contact me beforehand through email to go over and confirm anything if need be.

What I provide

All dice rolls will be done through D&D Beyond into Roll20. Players will choose their own character token/illustration to be used through D&D Beyond and Roll20. Maps will be virtualized in the Roll20 interface.

Gameplay details

Pregenerated characters are provided or the players can make a level 3 character to play. Equal amounts monster slaying, puzzle solving, social interaction, and exploration!
