How to prepare

🎵Microphone: While a high-end mic isn't necessary, a quiet environment is crucial for everyone's enjoyment. 📹Webcam: Although you can turn it off occasionally, it's essential that we see each other's faces and expressions as we bond and immerse ourselves in this incredible game! 💻Reliable computer and internet connection: We'll be using captivating animations and running audio/video through Discord, so a decent device and connection are important (sorry, 2003 Acer laptops with dial-up internet won't make the cut 😄). 🎧Optional - Headphones: These can help minimize echoes and enhance your listening experience with sound effects and music. 🖥️💻Optional - A second monitor: Many players find it helpful to have one screen for group video and another for battlemaps/tokens. While not required, it's a nice addition if you have it at your disposal. 😊

Finally, our story will adapt and evolve based on your decisions and character goals as you progress from a humble commoner to a level 20 hero. How will character creation work

To kick things off, we'll have a one-on-one chat via Discord to brainstorm some initial ideas. Then, you'll create a level 1 character who's just beginning to stand out as something extraordinary and is set for rapid advancement. Plus, our Discord server is a fantastic space for collaboration and fun! 🌟 For character setup, we'll use DnDBeyond (I'll provide a link granting access to all published content), and then transition to Foundry for streamlined gameplay. No more juggling multiple tabs and screens during an attack! 🌈 Our game will take place on Foundry, the world's most robust platform for online gaming! 🥳 Your character will be built using the "heroic array": 17, 15, 13, 11, 9, 7. This ensures that our heroes excel in their chosen specialties while fostering teamwork and reliance on one another to address their unique challenges. 💞 You'll also receive a free non-combat feat, enabling you to create a truly specialized character who will shine throughout the game! ✨ Our adventure unfolds in the Aventyr campaign setting, where certain monstrous races may not fit (e.g., Owlin, Centaur, Harengon). We're aiming for a setting-appropriate atmosphere where Aasimar are revered, goblins might be attacked on sight, elves are viewed with suspicion, and all dwarves have beards. 😉 If you're interested in using Unearthed Arcana (UA) content, feel free to discuss it with me. I'll likely approve, but I appreciate a heads up.👌😊👌 Racial feat restrictions can be waived if there's a reasonable explanation. For instance, your Orc character could acquire a Dwarven feat if you convincingly justify it (e.g., your character grew up as an adopted daughter of a Dwarven family and learned the Squat Nimbleness feat after years of ducking through small spaces). 🏰
