About the adventure
GET READY TO GET RIGGGIDTYYY RECCCKEDD!!! That's right you hobgoblins, Rick Sanchez himself is down to DM his very own official D&D Module for YOU on Roll20! This isn't the regular version here folks. I've added my own twists, turns, traps and 24 Rick & Morty pre-made characters for you to pick from. There are four flavors each of Beth, Morty, Jerry, Summer and yours truly. There’s also a motley collection of sidekicks, pets and a certain mathematical teacher. We're rolling in 5th edition. That's what the kids are playin’ these days and it's super easy, which is good ‘cause the dungeon *brrrp* WON’T be! Here are the basics… There will be 4 or *burp* 6 of you, I don’t care which. You’lll set off on a quest as requested by the local township, to investigate claims of an evil cult stealing people's asses--- and then *erpp* something blah blah goblins. Being the “heroes” you are, you’ll band together at the local tavern and set out to discover the source of said calamities: A dungeon! Time in this dungeon will vary, depending on whether you’re like Morty, or a true genius like myself. Generally it will be a 4 hour session, but if you’re a real enthusiast, spreading out the journey through 2-3 4 hour sessions is prefered to get all the content this module has to offer. The dungeon has enough variety and content that with the addition of 24 different characters to play as, there's plenty to keep multiple play-throughs entertaining and new each time! The game is played on Roll20 and use Discord for voice. Audio is generally required, video is optional. Players who are speech impaired or that may require additional considerations or assistance will be accommodated as best we may be able. Play is open to adults of 18+ preferably, or per country of origin’s law. Minors engaging in this module upon purchase of a seat, are considered having consent of their legal guardian and/or are accompanied by an adult.Content is expected to be at least of a PG13-R rating, given the nature of the Rick & Morty Series. Be prepared for similar humor and levels of vulgarity, cussing and or behavior. Not to be played by those offended easily. Note: It can be requested that the module be toned down, to accommodate a family gathering. Purchasers must make this inquiry at least several days in advance to ensure a family friendly environment for all involved.
Additional Details
How to prepare
Players require a working pre-tested and setup microphone. Web-cams are entirely optional. You don't need to like or have seen the Rick&Morty TV show or comics, but it would highly increase your enjoyment of the experience. You don't need to know how to play D&D, and beginners are just fine. Rick is a veteran enough DM to be able to teach people as they play.
What I provide
Just bring yourself and a love for Rick&Morty and D&D.
Gameplay details
5th edition as per the official module of the same name but with revamped characters and added Rick&Morty themed abilities. The dungeon has been re-mapped in Roll20 with a visual overhaul from Rick's original graph paper layout as well as added twists, turns, secrets and more! All professionally voice acted and DMed by Rick Sanchez himself in character the entire game. Players are encouraged to play up the Rick&Morty theme and stay in character. The scenario has multiple possible outcomes or endings as well as secrets and specific class or character connections making every play-through unique and exciting even if you've played before. The ideal play-through of the entire dungeon, accounting for the maximum amount of roleplay and or combat possibilities would fill three sessions of 4 hours in length. Alternative solutions or "successful" play-throughs can be accommodated for and completed within 4 hours with or without to intent to continue in an additional session. Expect Rick to be a Ruthless DM, but entertainingly so. Also be prepared to have the game run from start to finish by Rick, he'll be "in-character" so to speak but really we just can't get him to stop being himself. Afterall he did write the adventure himself. Don't worry if you die, even in the first room. Rick will assign you a new character or player to control, or have you restart at the beginning of the dungeon as a twin brother or foreign relation to your prior character that is exactly the same except maybe they have an accent or a funny hat, or both. Players dying in the middle of combat or similar altercations may find themselves taking control of the monsters or some other force until the situation warrants the arrival of whatever replacement Rick may grace you with. The game can be tailored to the specific party depending on play-style and approach. Diplomaticise your way through, sneak to the ending, kill em all or even doom the world having it all sucked into the pickle-plane, it's all up to you! There's no real wrong way to play so long as you're having fun!
