About the adventure

This will be a DnD5e Campaign starting with 1st level characters. The first session will be free and will allow time for character creation, backstory development and to introduce the setting. Waterdeep: Dragon Heist is a treasure hunt set against an urban backdrop. Half a million gold coins are hidden somewhere in Waterdeep. Many individuals know about the cache and are looking for it. Adventurers can join the hunt and prevent the cache from falling into evil hands. The city is threatened by escalating tension between two power groups that is on the verge of flaring into violence. The Zhentarim, a shadowy network of mercenaries, and Xanathar, the beholder crime lord of Waterdeep, are at odds, and when they clash, the characters are pulled into the conflict.

How to prepare

Voice will be through discord. You will receive an invite to the Cobalt's Quest server. Locate the name of the game (The Dragon's Horde) and click on the Gaming voice channel. Video is optional. Characters should be prepared in DnD Beyond from the link emailed to you. Please install Above VTT from the chrome store.

What I provide

I will provide access to character creation through DnD Beyond. I will provide maps and tokens for players unless players have tokens they wish to provide.

Gameplay details

This game will immerse you into the three tenants of Dungeons and Dragons. Exploration, Roleplay, and Combat. This game contains fantasy violence. We'll be using Above VTT for maps, lighting, resources and more. We'll use a combination of strategic combat using gridded maps, and more narrative, theater-of-the-mind combat when appropriate. Roleplay is highly suggested. You don't have to use a special voice for your character but acting as your character in terms of behaviors, decisions, and values (just to name a few), is essential. Knowledge of the rules is helpful but not necessary. You can learn as you play along. I use lines and veils for safety. Lines and veils set boundaries on content for a game. Lines are hard limits on content. They are things that the players don’t want in the game. Veils are things that are ok to be suggested at but to not be shown.Lines and veils can be adjusted as needed throughout the game. This game contains fantasy violence. I have a zero tolerance policy on the following in or out of game: SEXUAL ASSAULT (OF ANY KIND) RACISM / HOMOPHOBIA / SEXISM

How will character creation work

Players will receive a link from me to build a character in DnD Beyond so that they can have access to my vast library of materials. I will be available to answer any character creation questions up until game time. Check the Player Preparation Section.
