About the adventure

Humanoids have somehow found your hidden valley of Keshil and are starting to move in, constructing a new settlement. They cut down trees, hunt your friends and family, choke the air with smoke and steal your water. They must be stopped but their numbers are too many. Should you stay and defend your home with your lives or abandon the only place you’ve ever known and risk the treacherous mountain pass in search of a new forest? This is a one-shot homebrew of my own creation. You will play as literal animals; custom races with limited class choice and the capacity to talk to one another. It's really quite fun! The story is fairly tongue-in-cheek and the antics will be hilariously memorable. :) My style of play is quite similar to Matt Mercer's delivery: Silly voices, descriptive narration in and out of combat, and atmospheric music.

How to prepare

A mic, headphones, and decent connection are required; rules can be explained as we play and before our session in private. I have access to Syrinscape, a powerful online soundboard that everyone can connect to and prefer using it to deliver atmospheric music and sounds, however it does require everyone to download an additional program to run it (albeit small). If anyone feels uncomfortable with that I can use Foundry's sound system instead - it's just not as robust.

What I provide

I will provide the digital maps, access to the Foundry game, DNDBeyond campaign link, and optional online soundboard.

Gameplay details

There are some tactical maps for combat. You can expect about a 50/50 ratio of roleplay and combat with a new homebrewed mechanic to help the story unfold in a balanced and exciting way! This game is rated PG-13 for graphic descriptions and stronger language; it contains the following themes: • High Fantasy • Supernatural • Humorous The following safety tools are available during play: • X-Card - A tool that allows anyone to edit out any content anyone is uncomfortable with as we play. Since most RPGs are improvisational and we won't know what will happen till it happens, it's possible the game will go in a direction people don't want. An X-Card is a simple tool to fix problems as they arise. • Open and Inclusive Conversation - While the X-Card is useful, it is not a replacement for conversation. If you prefer to talk about an issue that comes up instead of using the X-Card, please do!

How will character creation work

We will use DNDBeyond where I've created the homebrew content. Once a session is confirmed, I will provide you with a campaign link you can join that has all the details concerning character creation.
