Descent Into Avernus - The Redemption of Zariel

About the adventure

Our story begins in the independent city of Baldur’s Gate, where the characters find themselves trapped behind the city’s walls after the gates are sealed to keep out hundreds of refugees from the neighboring land of Elturgard. However, the gates can’t hold back news that Elturgard’s capital has fallen, and that Grand Duke Ulder Ravengard of Baldur’s Gate is missing — lost on a diplomatic mission to Elturel. The fact that Elturel’s misfortune coincided with Ravengard’s visit has left Baldurians wondering whether Baldur’s Gate will suffer Elturel’s fate. Delving into the darkest side of a dark city, and eventually winding up wandering the first plane of Hell in search of a way to save a fallen city, Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus takes characters on an epic, city-saving journey that goes far beyond the standard romp around Faerun. Literally besieged on all sides, the adventure can be dark and dangerous at times and you can never know when or where it might be safe to find rest...

How to prepare

Microphone is a definite must as we will be communicating via Discord. You will also need an account on forge-vtt.com to access the virtual tabletop (it's a simple, and free, signup process).

I provide the virtual tabletop and all D&D Beyond material.

Gameplay details

Typical sessions will involve exploration, mystery solving, and fighting galore. Besieged in Hell by mid-levels, the characters will struggle to find a moments rest as they strive to solve the mystery of their situation and save Elturel.

How will character creation work

Characters will start at 1st level (or 5th if we're skipping the Baldur's Gate angle and diving straight into Hell) and will be created beforehand using D&D Beyond (I share ALL creation material with my players). I'm available to help with creation via Discord.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
