DarkWorld!--A DnD MMO
Dungeons & Dragons 5e on Discord
About the adventure
Welcome, Adventurer, to 'Sesura'--the Dark World. This is a world where Orcus, Zuggtmoy, Baphomet, Moloch, and the Demigod Iuz rule, under the leadership of the cruel demon lord, Graz'zt. Our story begins on Tyrannis, a continent under the domination of Iuz, demigod of Oppression. Your character has been arrested and placed into one of Iuz's prison camps, for one reason or another. Your crime? It matters little. Citizens of Tyrannis are arrested at the drop of a pin. Your quest? Escape the prison. Fight back. Form settlements. Explore the land and forge alliances. And perhaps, if you're lucky, even bring a bit of light to this Dark World.
How to prepare
If you would like to play in this game, please familiarize yourself with the general rules of DnD, although I am always happy to answer any questions, and have a lot of experience playing with beginners and newcomers to DnD.
What I provide
I will be providing maps and handouts that flesh out the world of Tyrannis. You will be given access to downloadable pdfs with tools for mapping and exploration. I also have access to most of the published DnD supplemental books.
DarkWorld is a role-play heavy, open world RPG set in a homebrew Dungeons and Dragons setting, using DnD 5e rules. If it had to receive a rating, it would probably be at a PG-13, so all players are welcome. The tone of the game will be a blend of Fallout, Breath of the Wild, Shadow of Mordor, and, surprise--Stardew Valley. Persistent World: This game will also be set in a multiplayer, persistent world. This means that EVERYTHING you do in the game will have long lasting effects on the world, among EVERY group that is playing. If you build a settlement? That settlement will stay where you built it, and other players, in other groups, may be able to come across it. Slay a baddie? That bad guy will stay dead, and other groups playing in this world will hear of your adventurous deeds. This gives the game a lot more weight, as your actions will have meaning for every group that's playing. Open World: The map in the thumbnail image represents a fully-developed continent on an immersive and detailed world. Every location on the map can be visited, and holds its own quests, unique NPC's, and unsolved mysteries. Group Size: Group sizes will never be larger than a maximum of five people. If you want to play in a group where your character gets a little more of the spotlight, this could be a good fit for you. Role-play Heavy: This game will be heavier on the role-play elements. Every NPC you meet will have a story to tell, and secrets to keep. Experience is awarded for talking your way out of situations, since fighting may not always be the best choice. Although this game will certainly feature combat situations, if you are looking for a combat-heavy game, this may not be the best fit for you. Consistent Schedule: Tired of playing games that drop off after one session? DarkWorld will meet at consistent, weekly intervals. This also aims to be a long term adventure, allowing you to play a character from level 1, all the way to level 20. Lastly, WHO AM I?: I'm your friendly host and DM, MagicalMarvo. I've been playing DnD for several years now. I am an actor and writer who has DM'd professionally for over a year. I love to create narratives that make players feel like part of the world, where their actions have consequences both big and small. But don't take my word for it, come on in and give it a try yourself! Hopefully, I'll see you in the Dark World.

How will character creation work
Welcome! This will be a free session zero, and an Introduction to Tyrannis. If you would like to create a character beforehand to discuss, that is welcome. You are also free to come in with ideas, and I will help mold your character into someone who fits into this original, homebrew setting. Characters will start at level 1, so be prepared. We will be using official DnD material to build characters, so stick to published books while building a character. Session zero is free as an introduction to myself, and the homebrew setting. Future sessions will be priced at $10 per session.
