About the adventure

There are many things you may have expected to find in the greatest library of the realm, but your party now finds itself racing against the clock to prevent a barnyard cult's scheme. A janitor's death, poorly named cultists, and adventure await you! Will you make it in time? The Candlekeep Mysteries are 17 short adventures that allow your adventuring party to play detective and solve unsolved crimes, right past wrongs, and prevent fiendish plots! Candlekeep attracts scholars like a flame attracts moths. Historians, sages, and others who crave knowledge flock to this library fortress to peruse its vast collection of books, scribbled into which are the answers to the mysteries that bedevil them. Many of these books contain their own mysteries—each one a doorway to adventure. Dare you cross that threshold?

If you are playing on a mobile device, or can not easily access the browser for some reason I will be streaming my screen via Discord. There is no account needed for Owlbear Rodeo. You just click the link I send you , and BOOM you see the map and can move around your token!

Content Warning: Everyone has different thresholds for what they feel comfortable with. The mysteries have varying degrees of violence, and by discussing with the table I make sure to use levels of detail that everyone feels comfortable with. Players are always free to let me know if adjustments need to be made. During play, players can call for a script change, The characters come to Candlekeep on a quest for information, perhaps to solve a crisis elsewhere in the world. During their research, they uncover a book and the mystery it contains, which leads to adventure. These short adventures work best with players who like mysteries and discovering their secrets.
