Candlekeep Mysteries (Homebrew Style)

About the adventure

Candlekeep is the center of the learned world that attracts people from many different walks of life. YOU are one such person. Drawn here for your own personal reasons to learn, research, and look for employment, a long and wondrous journey awaits you! This game uses parts of the Candlekeep Mysteries adventure. To enhance the world, I am adding a lot of homebrew to creature a fully developed campaign for levels 1-15. My campaigns are always loosely mapped out, meaning your actions can change things and anything can happen. I hope to see you in-game!

Additional Details

How to prepare

Have a mic, a forge account (free) and do your best to remember important rules when they are told. You will not need to bring a pre-made character sheet or have your own dice. Foundry provides it all, so just be ready to play and learn as you go. If you have a token or image that you want your character to look like, then just have it ready and let me know!

What I provide

The maps are either made by me, purchased from better artists, or taken from reddit for free use. There will be music, a nice quick interface to work with, and if you are alright with it you can even have your game on twitch for your friends to watch. (I do not have a big audience, so these games are more for you and your friends.)

Gameplay details

How we play is always ultimately up to you. In most sessions, there will be combat, exploration, or some planning. There will always be roleplay if you the players want it, and your decisions will push forward the narrative of the game. I will adjust the gameplay based on what you all prefer. I am very flexible, so just come to have a great time. The only safety warning I can think of is.... don't obviously try to be disgusting or take things too far. We are all here to have fun and I will let you do almost anything as long as everyone is comfortable with it, but don't take this as a green light to be 'that guy.'

How will character creation work

You will all be level oneand everything will be done on Foundry. if you have DnD beyond you can use Beyond20 to transfer/use the character on Foundry, BUT IT IS EASIER TO JUST ADJUST CHARACTERS IF FOUNDRY. If you use Beyond20 please give me a link to your character so I can see/observe them. I have not used Beyond20 however, so I would not be able to help guide you. If you want to make a character come with a concept, otherwise I have 44 pre-made characters for use. Tasha’s is only allowed if the other players are fine with it. (The main issue is power creep, but please please please do not pick a class that always uses a bonus action every turn in tashas. It slows down combat a lot.) Also, if you want to make a character or use skills use the book in the top right (compendium) on foundry to find and drag over the desired item. It makes things easier but only holds basic phb stuff in it. To roll stats, roll 4d6 and drop the lowest (1+3+5+6=14).

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
