About the adventure

Family friendly game appropriate for kids, tweens, teens and parents. In the style of G, PG or PG13. Think Disney - Pixar - Dreamworks. Theme focuses on core value building for kids, tweens and teens through interactive roleplaying; communication, accountability, teamwork, deductive reasoning as well as basic reading and math skills. Gameplay typically stays balanced between roleplaying, combat, and puzzles. Weight of encounters from session to session differ but there’s always something for everyone. Additionally, I will adjust gameplay style depending on the group dynamics. Please select Request Different Time if you would prefer to start at a different time or play on a different day. Feel free to request a different game. All DND5E content is available to play.

How to prepare

Guests will need to have reliable internet access with a webcam and headphones and/mic. Having a Facebook account is helpful for Debriefing and Aftercare. Players must have a Roll 20 account. Each player will need an email address with their own account. Having a Twitch account or Google account is also helpful but not necessary. I do not expect family friendly games to have Discord accounts, however, for Adult games a Discord account can also be helpful. Preparation and character creation will be determined based on guest experience. Character creation will occur in Roll 20. Guests may also link D&D Beyond character sheets to Roll 20.

What I provide

I provide the necessary content for Roll20. I can also provide links to Roll 20 tutorials if guests prefer to improve their skills with the Roll20 platform. I will provide the Roll20 links. I will provide Zoom and the necessary Zoom links. Tokens and avatars for characters will be provided. If you have a token/avatar you would like to use or change at any time, no worries, we'll do it. Preparation and character creation will be determined based on guest experience. Character sheets will be provided on Roll 20. I will work with guests to be prepared for game time. If you're not certain how it works - I will help you. :) Basic content available on Roll20.

Gameplay details

Family Friendly. Think G, PG, PG-13 in the style of Disney/Pixar. In a family friendly game we will work with Lines and Veils to set up hard boundaries on the expectation of the content before game play. We use X, N, O cards in Roll20 to monitor content. At the end of the game look to Stars and Wishes to reflect on the session. Additionally, we use Aftercare and Debriefing during out of game days to check in with players (and parents) to confirm content meets expectations.

How will character creation work

Point-buy or standard array. RAW. Official content only. Characters can be created on DDB and/or Roll 20. Characters should be created beforehand to the best of the player's experience. I will work with guests to be prepared for game time. Once added to the Roll 20 roster, there will be a character sheet for you to complete using the charactermancer. Links for how to operate the charactermancer will be available upon request. Guests who are not as experienced don't worry, I will work with you to get your character ready for game time. :)
