Business As Usual

About the adventure

Business as Usual takes place in a shared world with several DM's we run a behind the scenes political Landscape that affects things on a global scale, while the players are the tools and instruments for those changes. Each Session should have a multitude of "Missions" from players to pick from. The players may also choose to simply explore the unexplored areas of the world a "Hex Crawl" if you would. Each "Mission" has a difficulty attached to it related to how likely someone is to meet their fate during a mission. Mind you that rating is just the likely hood of death, or difficulty of combat we suspect for a specific level range. Since this is a shared world with PC's coming and going you may not be in a group of all level 3's or all lvl 5's you may find yourself with a range of levels, 1-4, 5-8, so forth and so on. in the end this all boils down to Business as Usual being a Shared world west march style campaign, where the players get to explore a dangerous world in one shot missions while experiencing an over-arching plot of political intrigue.

How to prepare

In order to play with Business as Usual you will need to have a mic, Fantasy Grounds Unity, and Discord. It would be preferred but not necessary for your character to have a background story, if you have questions about our setting feel free to ask questions in Discord. We are currently working on a Discord bot that will help guide people thru character creation, until such point in time as that is finished characters will be built in FGU and the DM's will record those characters in Google Sheets. We have a "Guide" to helping you create a character that upon joining the Discord will be shared with you, these are just a series of questions to help you decide what your character might be like and develop a Background story. What I provide

Since this game takes place over a VTT all of our DM's are expected to have the Ultimate Fantasy Grounds Unity License and the server accessible at least 30 minutes before the session starts.

Gameplay details

Players should expect a new vastly unexplored massive world, that will allow them to wander a map and discover new things, or maybe even old things long forgotten. Combat in the game is deadly, requiring quick wit survive. Being a West March, each session is "Mission Driven" this means that typically before the session starts the players will be presented with several objectives and it is up to them to decide which one they want to do. These "Missions" have a wide variety to them and can be as simple as "Clear out the Goblin Den that has been discovered in the Eastern Mountains" to as complex as "Attend the Diplomats Ball and garner Lady Zashas favor". The Difficulty of the missions will be rated in such a style that you should have some idea of how dangerous a mission can be related to the likely hood of death. Players choices matter, if the players take the mission to "Clear the Goblin Den" and decide to continue exploring that is their prerogative, HOWEVER all sessions have a hard end, so please keep the time in mind. In the end every session is different but can include. Exploring, Combat, RP. A little bit for everyone, sometimes sessions are heavier RP than Combat others it is a Blender fest of combat.

How will character creation work

All Characters will start at level one, unless the character is one that has been within the Business as Usual world before. Sessions will be limited by a Level range, so you may not be paired up with all lvl 3s just because your character is level 3. The level ranges currently are 1-4, 5-9, 10-14, 15+. It is our expectation that you take time to join the discord, read the rules, and create your character prior to the event. Feel free to use the discord to ask any questions we are here to help. Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
