    About the adventure

General Setting: Ios Welcome to the Age of Desolation; it is a perilous time of tumult and toil throughout Ios. It has been twenty years since the final battle between the Exalted Gods and the Fallen Gods. In this civil war known as the Divine Cataclysm, the floating cities of the Aeonian Dominion fell and were cascaded along the surface of Ios. Former Aeonian nobility and slaves alike were forced to find new homes on the surface below. Many of the former slaves of the Aeonian Dominion spread to far corners of the continent of Altisha. They formed tribalistic clans and chose to live free and stand against the horrors of a Godless Ios along. Specific Setting: Sands of Illyria: Inhospitable and scorching sands with only a few places of respite The Sands of Illyria are exceedingly difficult to tame, at least for outsiders. The free clans of the People of the Sands find refuge in each other and in knowing the secretes of the sands. Through magical manipulation, civil ingenuity and grit the various clans can create temporary oases amongst the waste. Most outsiders try to skirt the outside of the sands or risk dying to exposure, rogue warbands or many of the deadly predators of the sands. Some outsiders can convince the clans to take them by proving their worth, others perish never able to find their hidden oases. When the clans war with each other, the survivors of the defeated clan can join the victors making the clan stronger. Power dynamics, alliances and resources shift like the sands in Illyria; nothing stays on top for long. Whether you were born to one of the clans, a recent survivor of a clan attack, and outsider that has earned their way in or simply seeking the people of the sand out, one thing is certain; everyone eventually is returns to the sand. Game: Dungeons & Dragons 5e {Paid] Group type: Online via Foundry VTT & Discord Player Experience: New and Experienced Players Welcome Schedule: Fridays 6:00 - 10:00 pm EST; 3 weeks of live sessions, 1-week downtime session Roles sought: All players are welcome at my virtual table. There are currently two spots left to fill at this table. Game style: Balance of roleplay, exploration and combat with complex narratives and believable characters. I aim to challenge my players utilizing all the pillars of D & D while also making sure that everyone is entertained. DM style: I prefer to challenge my players with equal shares of combat, narrative roleplaying, and exploration but I tailor our games based on the needs of my players. I am knowledgeable on the rules as written and I have homebrewed rules to supplement the gameplay experience as appropriate. All my homebrew rules are explained upfront and if I ever need to change a rule, I will discuss it beforehand. I consider myself to be a confident, clever, and fair DM, but good storytelling is to show not tell.
