About the adventure
This is a halloween one-shot and we will be doing something spooky: Countess Strahd von Zarovich is going to marry. Her fiancé, known by the name of "blood prince" is currently residing in what the locals call the "death house". Your organization, the Custodes Mortis have taken up his trail. The goal seems simple, prevent the unholy bond and strike a blow against the countess or die to fulfill your mission! You will be playing Level 5 Characters with a grudge against Strahd or whatever you come up with that motivates them to go up against this terrifying foe. You will need to play smart and use everything at your disposal to win. Your characters will be powerful and well equipped, but so are your enemies!

About me
Hi my name is Mat and I'm a 37 years old DM from germany who thrives in RP and collaborative storytelling. While I enjoy combat and mechanics a lot, for me the core of the game is player interaction and story. I will always advocate for a "rule of cool" approach and rather drive the story, then being a rule lawyer. As always in life there's a certain grey area here rather then black or white. I will mostly run DND and Nimble in DnDBeyond for character creation and the VTT environment. I like a simple approach for the backend, which makes it easy for everyone to jump in and just have fun. I'll help with everything from character creation to backstory and will tailor it until it fits your playstyle. I'm open to homebrew to a certain extend and I'll will have you play the character you envisioned. For Draw Steel I'll be using their own VTT Codex and have a few licenses so, new players are cared for!

Creating your character
Character creation will be guided through the discord server. Once onboard you will receive all needed materials to create your character. I will support with questions and give advice where needed. The PC are tasked to hunt down a man reputed to be a vampire. PCs have a reason to hate Countess Strahd. You will have Grim Hollow 3rd Party content at your disposal as well as needed official subclasses.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You need an account in DnDBeyond and Discord to participate in this game. You will join the discord server and gain access to a DnDBeyond campaign where a PC can be created.
What Mat brings to the table
Expect his Halloween one-shot to explore the central themes of gothic horror and the campaign setting of Ravenloft. Spooky characters and spooky voices with a sinister ambient soundtrack will set the tone for an adventure on HD battle maps by DM Andy(will get 1/8 of the money as a tip) and a scene by James' RPG Art. Combat will be streamline as promised in Nimble, providing a challenge hard enough to feel the high stakes. You are threatening the ruler of barovia after all.
Homebrew rules
• Potion as action full healing – as bonus action roll • Grim Crit Hit – Full damage for the dice + rolled dice and modifiers • Short rests in this dungeon take 10 min (depending on short rest character dependecies) • Shooting at prone targets from 10 feet or above does not give disadvantage • Creatures provide cover: medium creatures-> half cover

How Mat creates a safe table
