About the adventure
Welcome to Harlem, 1925—where the clubs are alive with jazz, the streets hum with energy, and the shadows are just a little too deep. When a street fight turns deadly and a body disappears from the morgue, your investigation begins. But what starts as a local mystery quickly spirals into something stranger: a saxophone player with a song that won't stop playing, rumours of the dead walking, and a melody no one should be able to hear. Dead Man Stomp is a one-shot mystery set in the heart of 1920s Harlem where music, myth, and murder collide. As investigators you’ll question suspects, follow leads, and face horrors both human and unearthly. This game is perfect for new and experienced players alike. No prior knowledge of the system is required as I’ll guide you through everything you need to know, from rolling dice to staying sane and surviving.

Meet the Game Master
About me
I'm a horror-focused GM from London, England who loves building atmospheric worlds and taking players on unforgettable journeys into the strange and terrifying. From cosmic horror and gothic mysteries to folk horror and supernatural thrillers, I enjoy creating stories where tension builds naturally and every choice matters. My games are driven by player agency and memorable roleplay. I believe the best horror comes from characters making difficult decisions rather than following a script, so expect engaging NPCs, meaningful consequences, and stories that evolve around your group's actions. Above all, my goal is to make sure everyone at the table has an amazing time. I primarily run Call of Cthulhu, alongside D&D 5e, Delta Green, and Shiver, and I'm always excited to explore other systems. When I'm not running games, I'm a software engineer, husband, father, football ("soccer") fan, board game enthusiast, and blogger.

I will provide pre-generated characters but will be happy to consider any character you have ready to go.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
As players will need to communicate with each other they should all have a microphone and ideally also have a webcam (but this is not a requirement). The game will be run on Discord and Foundry VTT.
What Chris brings to the table
I will bring pre-prepared character sheets to the game and all materials required including maps, ambient music and handouts. The game will be run on my Discord and Foundry VTT server, so you only require a laptop with a microphone and preferably also a camera.

How Chris creates a safe table
At my table there is an open door policy where players can step away if they wish for a time, and in long sessions a break will be held.
