About the adventure
You're being sent into the heart of a nation ruled by red-robed wizards who trade in secrets the way other kingdoms trade in gold, as agents of a quiet operation most of the realm doesn't even know exists. Somewhere beneath the politics and the paranoia, something far older and far more dangerous is moving pieces into place, patiently, deliberately, and by the time most people notice, it'll already be too late to stop. This isn't a dungeon crawl. It is a infiltration mission, alliances that might not hold, and missions where the wrong word to the wrong person could unravel everything. Talk your way into a Red Wizard's inner circle. Forge an alliance with people you're not sure you can trust. Go in quiet, or go in with spells blazing, the choice, and the consequences, are yours. As your DM, I want every choice here to feel like it matters, because at this level, it does. You're not new heroes finding your footing anymore, you're some of the most powerful people in the world, and the stakes match that. Burn a bridge you can't rebuild. Make a call under pressure that changes the whole mission. Decide how far you're willing to go to stop something that's been building toward this far longer than you have. This is a high-level campaign built for levels 11-20, your characters at the height of their power, facing a threat that actually deserves it. No prior experience with this setting needed, just bring a character ready to operate in the dark. Thay doesn't trust outsiders. Will it have a reason not to trust you either?

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hi there! I'm Joe, aka Phoenix. I've been running TTRPGs for 10 years and have hosted hundreds of games here on StartPlaying. I run character-driven stories where your backstory and weird ideas shape the world
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
We will be using 5.5e/2024 rules and your characters will start at level 11, you can make a character before Session 0 if you like but character creation will be handled in session 0. that way I am there if you need help. I will also help tailor your character to the campaign and setting.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should have the following: - access to a webcam/mic - a dndbyond account (for building characters and accessing the campaign and map/VTT) - a discord account (for playing the game)
What Joe (Phoenix) brings to the table
I will provide the dndbeyond campaign which has content sharing available so anything I own you can have access to as well, a discord server where we will play the game. I have a music bot in the server that will provide some nice background music and the occasional sound effect. I am a big believer and practitioner of the Rule of Cool and the "yes and" philosophy. Players can expect a rules light, roleplay heavy experience that focus on telling a good story.
Homebrew rules
- Drinking a potion can be either a bonus action or a full action. - On a critical hit in combat (Nat 20) you double the damage dice. One die is automatically the highest number on the die. Reroll 1's on the damage die - A Natural 20 on initiative gives you advantage on your first hit. A Natural 1 on initiative gives you disadvantage on your first hit. - When a dying character fails their third death saving throw, they can immediately take any single action Those are the Big Ones. A list of all these house rules and more that I use are listed in my discord server
