About the adventure

A mysterious patron has urged each of the intrepid adventurers of our tale to seek out a supposed burial site, the Tomb of the Shadow Serpents. There you, should you be bold enough to accept the challenge, will be tested. You will fight. You may even perish. What makes it all worth it? Why, treasure, of course. The patron has guaranteed that the adventurers may keep whatever loot they find as a reward for completing the trials of the tomb. All that matters to the would-be benefactor is whether they live... or die like the rest. This is a newer adventure released with the Unleashed Arcana book! Starting at level 1, players will make their way through a manageable bite sized dungeon to test the characters they call heroes. Whether you're an active player, returning old guard, or entirely new to the game, this adventure is sure to give you what you're looking for! And who knows, perhaps there may yet be more in store...

About me

I grew up with the 2000 D&D movie and was introduced to the hobby of tabletop gaming by my wonderful uncle with D&D 4th edition. Admittedly I was young, so it didn’t quite stick, but I later play-tested fifth edition at San Diego Comic Con 2010 when it was still D&D Next, and I got a further taste for playing. Fast forward a little to high school when I found my first full time group and I was hooked and have been playing ever since. I have long dabbled and researched in being a dungeon master, though once I got my foot hold several years ago, I was rabid and couldn’t be held back. Now I do it for a living!

Character creation

Creating your character

Initial character creation will occur during session zero along with other aspects of preparation, with each player character starting at level 1 and should expect to become level 2 at the end of the adventure. Session zero character creation will namely focus on deciding on a species, class, and overall concept. The stats and skills may be worked on following session zero but should be ready prior to the first play session.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

All that's need are two accounts: Discord and D&D Beyond. No payments are required to sign up and use either for this game. We will be using the D&D Beyond VTT and talk over a voice channel in Discord, with cameras being a potential option.

What Deadpoet brings to the table

Over the years since the start of the pandemic, I've had a lot of practice at hosting online games. Between voice work and a (opt-in) curation of music, I offer a story heavy game that molds itself to the players between roleplay, combat, exploration, and more.

Safety

How Deadpoet creates a safe table

Players will receive a lines and veils document to be gone over and filled out during session zero. Instead of X, N, O cards I prefer a Red, Yellow, Green system. I also like to follow up sessions with an after game discussion of stars and wishes.
