About the adventure
"We are walking into a world that was never meant for human eyes." In 1930, Miskatonic University’s ill-fated expedition uncovered geometric monstrosities frozen in the Antarctic ice—and paid for it with their lives. Now, it is 1933. You have signed on with the Starkweather-Moore Expedition to return to the bottom of the world, finish their research, and claim your place in history. But the ice does not want you here... This is not a heroic adventure. This is a 20-session battle against a frozen hell. You will face howling polar gales, creeping frostbite, and dwindling supplies across the most hostile landscape on Earth. And the deeper you trek into the white waste, the more you will realize that the cold is the kindest thing waiting for you here... ... for beyond the highest mountain peaks lies a cyclopean city older than the stars—and it is waking up just in time to great you. ---- What you can expect: 🛠️ Pacing Optimization: The original book is notoriously massive, and quite a slow burn for the players. I have trimmed the historical fluff and repetitive travel logistics to keep the momentum high and focused entirely on player agency. We will still begin before the expedition departs for Antarctica, but we will leave out the mundane padding of the original. 🔊 Immersive Soundscapes: Custom ambient audio—from the howling, bone-chilling blizzards to the unnatural, echoing hums deep beneath the ice—engineered to maximize tension. 🎮 Game Information System: Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition (Streamlined for online play—perfect for beginners and veterans alike). Tone: Gritty, atmospheric, and highly immersive. Investigation and roleplay-heavy, where wits matter more than weapons. Ideal Characters: Scientists, professors, pilots, rugged engineers, journalists, or hardened polar survivalists looking for their big break. Safety & Comfort: Features themes of isolation and psychological distress. We use standard safety tools (Lines and Veils, X-Card) to ensure a thrilling yet safe experience for everyone. OTHER NOTES: This is a very combat light campaign, so roleplay will be the main focus as the atmosphere and dread builds. Hi! Like many of you, I enjoy playing TTRPGs in my free time. Being a fan of the Cthulhu Mythos, my first experience with RPGs was as a player in Call of Cthulhu. I have since expanded into other genres of TTRPGs as well. Occasionally, I do enjoy just bashing enemies and being super powerful, but most of the time I prefer when characters are more human. I enjoy the story, atmosphere, and the dread of knowing something may be around the corner that can't be dealt with using brute force alone.

Creating your character
We will all create characters together during our discounted $6 Session 0. I will walk everyone through the process. I will help you with ideas and suggestions if you are unsure. I will also provide all the info in the VTT. **** I will also have some pre-generated characters for players to choose from it you don't want to make a character or if you are joining after the Session 0. **** If you have an idea of what type of character you want to play, that's fine. But please don't have every detail and stat figured out ahead of time as this would not be fair to another player who may have a similar idea in mind and waited to build the character together. To make a balanced party for the game, you may need to be flexible with your character build. Thanks.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need: 1. A Discord Account (I will invite you to my server) and a Mic - Discord will be used for all the Audio, and video (if you're using a webcam). I will be running this game on Foundry VTT, but you do not need an account. I will send the link to join my game server via Discord. Note: You do NOT need any experience with Foundry VTT! It's very easy to use, and I will teach you.
What Keeper_Chris brings to the table
I will try to build the atmosphere and dread of this scenario. When I run Call of Cthulhu, I strive for a certain level or realism in my world (even though supernatural things may happen!). This scenario is quite linear compared to other Call of Cthulhu scenarios. Things will happen that your characters don't have much control over. Just try to survive and enjoy the ride! I want all my players to have fun and enjoy the story. When dealing with the Eldritch Horrors that appear in Call of Cthulhu games, PCs may die or go insane. That's OK! We will make backups during character creation. There are also many NPCs in this campaign that I can hand over to you to play as. This campaign is known to be lethal! Let's have fun with it!
